The man accused of torturing a 36-year-old man under the Reserve Street Bridge in late July before shooting him to death and dumping his body in the Clark Fork River won’t be back in Montana any time soon...

“He was arraigned this week in Shreveport and he denied the opportunity to waive extradition,” Missoula County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Paige Pavalone said Thursday...

“It’s a delay of process is what it is,” Pavalone said.

the stories provided using your link emphasize the difference between 'law abiding' and locally known homeless versus the highly mobile and often hateful newcomers to places like Montana -- trouble makers -- I really hope there is a death penalty on the table for this case as the torture and needless violence is gut wrenching. The man that was killed did nothing -- it was the newcomer who attacked the peaceful existence of this homeless encampment.

Kevin Lino is now being held in Louisiana, and refused extradition at a hearing on Tuesday in Caddo Parish.

He has a follow-up hearing this Friday, in which he will be presented with another opportunity to waive extradition.

If he refuses extradition again, the Missoula County Sheriff's Department will seek a governor's warrant for his release - a process that could take up to six weeks.

""Marchese is traveling with her mother back to Montana to face a felony obstruction of justice charge. Deputy Missoula County Attorney Jason Marks said she will make her initial appearance in Justice Court next week.

The fourth suspect, 21-year-old Mechailiah Aiden Tembreull, faces an aggravated assault charge but has been released on pretrial supervision."
