Mark Edmonson?

"Possibly suicidal." Although not explicitly mentioned, I have a feeling at least some of the UIDs found in Toronto subway stations are suicide jumpers.

On a side note, it's disappointing how there are only postmortem photographs instead of artists' renderings of several UIDs found in Toronto.

Edit: Another depressed man from Ontario with similar stats: Bruce Berthelot http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/1586dmon.html

Have always thought the right profile of this person (missingu site) looks younger than 35 years old. Jmo.

He's also clean shaven - he seems to have woken up that day somewhere close by the Toronto station before his death. Did someone dispose of his belongings soon after, thinking he left town? The 'mariner' type items make me think east of Toronto - Halifax or further east?

The more I look at it, the more Bruce Berthelot looks like a match. http://www.missing-u.ca/MPDetail.aspx?PersonID=1325

Estimated age: 35-40 years old. BB: would have been 38.
Approximate Height and Weight: 5'9-6'0" (177 - 185 cm); 185 lbs. (84 kg). BB: 5'10; 175 lbs.
Distinguishing Characteristics: Brown short hair; brown eyes. BB: Dark brown, wavy hair; brown eyes.
Dentals: Natural teeth in poor condition. BB: Often has trouble with his teeth.
Clothing: Blue, button, short-sleeved shirt. Blue jeans. BB: Wears jeans, t-shirts.
Personal Effects: Gold chain with pendant of a Mariner's Wheel worn around neck. Cigarette lighter. BB: enjoys fishing and boating, smoked cigarettes.

The negatives are the almost 4-year gap and 348 km distance.

BB does seem a possibility ebonydarkness - 4 years is enough time for some change in appearance.

Have you submitted the possibility? BB has fingerprints available - a real bonus - and the UID should have as well, considering he was found quickly.

I just submitted it through email. It's my first time submitting a potential match. Here goes nothing.

It says Bruce Berthelot has a club foot... was anything like that mentioned on the UID?

Wish Canada would put a better system of communication in place for UID's and Missing People - the public could then have more confidence an investigator looked at all possibilities and evidence.

My skepticism will always be present after partial remains in Northern Ontario were deemed to be female - proper testing 10 or so years later discovered the remains were male. A family looking for the man went far too many years without knowing. Not necessary.

Who knows what x-rays were done on this UID - a corrected club foot could have gone unnoticed imo.
