    TX - Christine Mohler, 25, Smithville, 7 August 2014

    http://www.statesman.com/news/news/l...missing/ngzxS/

Officials said 25-year-old Christine Mohler of Smithville, a cashier at the Bastrop KFC at Chestnut and Texas 95, has been officially listed as “missing” since Thursday, Aug. 7, though family members say she’s been out of touch for more than a week...

Officials say it’s unknown whether she disappeared of her own accord or whether foul play was involved, but her cousin, Doyle Sullivent, says he fears she’s in trouble... Sullivent said Mohler doesn’t own a car and that her purse and ID had been left behind at the residence at which she was staying.

Sullivent, a concealed handgun license instructor and Gonzales County EMT from Rosanky, has been organizing a grassroots effort, handing out fliers and posting on social media outlets, to find his cousin since she failed to report to work last week. The EMT invites people to contact him through his unlocked Facebook page...

So far this is the only news report I could find ... http://www.statesman.com/news/news/l...missing/ngzxS/

“She supposedly lived with her parents in Smithville, but had been staying with someone in Bastrop,” said Detective Jad Hubbard with the Smithville Police Department. “We’re following up on some leads, and we’ve put her in the (Texas Department of Public Safety) missing persons database.”

Officials say it’s unknown whether she disappeared of her own accord or whether foul play was involved, but her cousin, Doyle Sullivent, says he fears she’s in trouble.

“It’s just not like her to leave without telling anyone,” Sullivent lamented. “She’s the type of person who tells her mom everything, whether it’s bad or good.”

The family of a missing Smithville, Texas woman is desperate for the public's help to find her.
Doyle Sullivent has not slept for weeks and for good reason. He said he has been searching day and night to find any information to help track down his missing cousin.
"As soon as I lay down my brain is going 100 miles an hour, and I think if I take this time to take a break that's 5-10 minutes I could have been doing something else," Sullivent said.
His cousin is 25-year-old Christine Mohler who vanished more than two weeks ago after leaving her friend's house in Bastrop, Texas.

It’s been roughly two weeks since Smithville resident and Bastrop restaurant worker Christine Mohler was reported missing, but her family has not given up hope that she’ll return home...

Hubbard said the police department was meeting with the Texas Rangers and Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office on Monday to try to determine if there was a way they could modify their search methods...

While Hubbard said there’s no evidence of foul play, Sullivent says he’s been steeling himself for the possibility that when she is found, it won’t be good news. “I’ve been around search and rescue efforts before, and when they go on for this long, it’s usually not good,” Sullivent said glumly. “You keep an eye open and hope for the best, but you;ve got to keep your mind open. She’s got a big family — probably over half the county is related to her — and we’re all out there asking questions.”

Texas Rangers investigate after body found in Bastrop Co. field

Bastrop (the city in Bastrop County) is 13 miles from Smithville.
    In the first Statesman post:
"“She supposedly lived with her parents in Smithville, but had been staying with someone in Bastrop,” said Detective Jad Hubbard with the Smithville Police Department."

I hope this is not Christine. Gender has not been disclosed yet.

ETA: From the Bastrop address she was last seen at, it is much closer, depending on exact location of field 2.5 - 3.5 miles

    A: Christine's last seen address @ 685 Texas 95 Bastrop
B: General area between BJ Mayes Rd and Texas 95 Bastrop - yesterday's discovery.

After an autopsy Friday in Travis County, it was determined a forensic anthropologist would be called in to further examine the remains and help identify the person and a provide a possible cause of death. Police initially said the victim could not be identified due to the condition of the body.
I hate to think what "the condition of the body" could mean. Sounds like it might be more than just decomp.

I just came on here to see if someone had started a thread for Christine. This is my home town, very tight knit community.

The Bastrop County Precinct 1 justice of the peace said Friday that evidence found by a search party leads her to believe a body discovered Wednesday in a wooded area near Bastrop is of a 25-year-old Smithville woman who was listed as missing Aug. 7...

Van Gilder said Thursday that the body was that of woman in her mid-20s, but clarified Friday that the Travis County medical examiner’s office, which autopsied the badly decomposed body, had not determined whether it was a man or woman.

Christine's cousin (interviewed in several MSM articles above) posted on Facebook the name and photo of the person who was allegedly last seen with her.

I'm sorry, can't link to personal FB profiles unless it's the victim or the perp, so that's the best I can do!

It appears that a missing woman in Bastrop County has been found. But it's not the happy ending family members of Christine Mohler were praying for.

Doyle Sullivent spent most of Tuesday on the phone. His conversations, with family and detectives, were an attempt to confirm what his heart had already told him. The search for his missing cousin is over...

Sullivent told FOX 7 that detectives are expected at the Smithville house where Christine lived with her parents to collect DNA samples. That should finalize the identification process. Meanwhile, a preliminary autopsy on the body has reportedly found no signs of trauma.

Sullivent said Wednesday that he found a shoe belonging to his cousin Friday during a law enforcement-supervised search of the area near where the body was found. Her cell phone was also found in the area, Sullivent said.

“In my heart, I feel 100 percent that it is her,” said Sullivent, who has been leading a grassroots search effort to find his cousin. “This waiting to know for sure is the worst part. We’re just waiting to hear. What day will it be? What hour? Will it be in the next 30 minutes? The family needs to get closure.”

Officials have not commented publicly on whether they believe foul play was involved.
