I found an Edna A Kaminski, wife of John, on the 1940 census. They are listed at 392 Woodward Ave in Queens, and her DOB 1921. This is most likely her. The odd thing is that there is a 1 year old Franklin (listed as a son) living with them, and according to NamUs, they had a 20 month old daughter. Would Franklin have been used as a girl's name at that time?
I did a search in the New York Times archive and couldn't find anything about her disappearance.
