Vermont Secondary College threatens to call in police if students use social media for bullying
August 19, 2014
SCHOOL has threatened police action over students *social media posts in a bid to prevent online bullying.
Vermont Secondary College urged students in a newsletter not to post photos of other students or refer to the school on Instagram, otherwise it would be forced to take action, including possible police involvement.
Principal Tony Jacobs said while the Instagram posts had so far been positive, they had the potential to turn sour.
We are conscious of kids using it as a site to comment on other kids, he said.
Even if students are commenting on others in a positive way, you only need one kid to turn that in another direction.
