Nampa police are asking for the public's help in tracking down a missing woman and the man they have labeled a "person of interest" in her disappearance.

A family member called police Monday night, with concerns that no one had heard from 36-year-old Selena Dawn Thomas since Thursday.

When officers went to Thomas' Nampa home to check on her, they discovered suspicious circumstances. Thomas was gone, but her car and personal effects remained behind.

Police want to talk with her boyfriend, 39-year-old Alfredo Martin Martinez. He was last seen driving a white Dodge pickup, but also owns a white Honda Accord with Idaho license plate 2CLY849. He is 5 feet 9 inches tall, and about 190 pounds with brown hair.

Thomas is 5-7 and about 150 pounds with brown hair and eyes.

Alfredo Martin Martinez, boyfriend of missing Nampa woman Selena Dawn Thomas, has come forward to Nampa Police.

Martinez's parole officer is said to have been looking for him as he had not disclosed his trip to McCall. Nampa Police say that it is expected that Martinez will be arrested for breaking parole.

Martinez has a criminal history that includes charges of domestic assault, although he pleaded guilty to lesser charges of disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.

Still no word on Selena's whereabouts.

The Idaho Department of Correction says an inmate assigned to a community work center south of Boise has been captured.

Alfredo Martin Martinez, Jr., was serving a five-year sentence for possession of a controlled substance in Canyon County. He was eligible for parole in October and would have completed his sentence in two years

On Wednesday, police released photos of two vehicles — a white 2001 Chevy Monte Carlo (2C LG328) and a white 2001 Dodge extra cab Durango (2C HU862) — that they say could be related to the case, and they're asking the public to contact them with information about sightings of the vehicles between Friday, Aug. 15, and Monday, Aug. 18...

The Monte Carlo belongs to Thomas; the truck belongs to a relative of Martinez.

So LE has custody of both vehicles. I think they want to know if anyone saw them — and where — so they'll have some idea of where to look for Selena's body. :(

Police have been at the scene — about a mile east of Melba, near Baseline and Can-Ada roads — since 6 p.m. Wednesday, said Nampa Police Sgt. Joe Ramirez. They had it locked down as a crime scene by 10 p.m.

Arrested Wednesday night were:

- Jose Cruz Flores. He was charged with aiding and abetting murder, burglary, destroying evidence, and failure to notify authorities of a death.

- Daniel Francisco Sena. He was charged with aiding and abetting murder, destroying evidence, and failure to notify authorities of a death.

- Jorge Luis Garcia. He was charged with aiding and abetting murder and failure to notify authorities of a death.

I feared this wouldn't end well.

So three in custody for aiding and abetting...but none of them for the actual murder. I'm going to *assume* the boyfriend is the one that will get the murder charge.

The news conference has just ended. KTVB news carried it live so I am sure they will have a follow up shortly in print. The boyfriend (Alfredo Martinez) was referred to as a murder suspect but LE would not release any details yet because of the ongoing investigation. Selena's mom pleaded with all women who are experiencing domestic violence to please just get away. Law enforcement reiterated that there are resources available to anyone experiencing domestic violence and needs help to remove themselves from the situation.

The coroner and a cadaver dog have just arrived at a cornfield where LE has been investigating since 6pm last night.

This just makes me sick and so sad.

The boyfriend of a missing Nampa woman is now the prime suspect in a homicide investigation that involves four men, according to Nampa police detectives...

Ramirez said several breaks in the case led them to the field in rural Canyon County. "Based on detective leads, we learned that she may not still be alive, so we ended up here based on some of their tips," he said...

"This is a very extensive-type crime scene, so we have to be very careful about how we collect evidence. We're taking our time on this," he said. "We want to do the best work we can for Ms. Thomas' family."

The boyfriend of Selena Thomas — who has been missing for about a week — told police that he struck her with a hammer, put her in a trunk and buried her in a cornfield near the Snake River, according to court documents...

"He stated that she came at him, and he pushed her backwards, causing her to strike her head on a dresser," the document says. Martinez was living at Thomas's Nampa home...

When officers examined Thomas' car, they found all the carpet had been removed from the trunk. There were also blood smears near the left hinge of the trunk.

When Jorge Luis Garcia arrived with Martinez, he saw a body wrapped in a sheet inside a bedroom closet. He says Martinez dragged the body into the garage by the legs, before picking it up and dumping it into the trunk of the car...

After Garcia left, Martinez enlisted the help of two more men: Jose Cruz Flores and Daniel Francisco Sena. Flores told investigators that the suspect gave him some of Thomas' property, including a lawnmower and weed eater...

Martinez said that Flores and Sena came with him to get rid of the body, and took turns digging a grave for Thomas' body in a field near Swan Falls.
