Idaho searchers looking for missing California man

The Boise County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding a missing California man. Boise County dispatchers say Lucius Robbi, 21, was last seen in the Horseshoe Bend area around 2 p.m. last Tuesday. He is believed to be driving a green 1979 Subaru Legacy with California license plates reading: 6 CCP 540. Authorities say the Subaru could have one or two kayaks on top. Dispatchers say Robbi was employed for the summer at the Cascade Raft company in Horseshoe Bend. He was scheduled to attend orientation at the University of Montana last Wednesday. But he never arrived. Family members became concerned and notified the Boise County Sheriff’s Office. Volunteers from Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue are conducting ground and aerial searches.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

"...and Lucius Robbi were selected to receive scholarships for our Swiftwater Rescue certification course."

Based on his hobbies, I find it highly unlikely he was in to drugs. Most hard core kayakers that I know are very into health and proper eating habits. I fear he went off alone and was injured or worse.

Somebody on the FB page says that LE have checked his bank card and it hasn't been used since Aug 18.

Apparently he left Banks, ID on Tuesday, Aug. 19, and was driving to Missoula, MT. He was planning to camp overnight and arrive in Missoula on Wed., Aug. 20. The most direct route is about a 7 1/2 hour drive, so there doesn't really appear to be a reason to stop overnight, unless he wanted to go on a little adventure during the trip. According to FB rumors, there are some leads that put him in the area of Stanley and Salmon, ID, so that means he probably took RT. 21 to Rt. 93 north and most of the trip was within National Forrest areas. It is reported that the last cell phone ping was Tuesday (Aug 19) afternoon around 2:40 pm east of Lowman, ID.

Does anyone have any idea where he planned to camp on the way?

They haven't found his car yet?

Wonder if he stopped along the way to kayak and got injured?

    Hoping he is found safe!

Jessica Stoll, a friend of Robbi, said he was planning on camping Tuesday night before his orientation on Wednesday.
According to Stoll, Robbi studied outdoor recreation at Feather River College in California.
“We went to college together at FRC in California for outdoor recreation leadership so he has a good understanding of what to do if lost and orienteering,” Stoll said.

He seemed to enjoy the outdoors so much...

could he have gotten "cold feet" thinking of having to go to a college with "traditional" classrooms, etc?

    Just an idea...

According to a Sheriff’s Office news release, it is unknown which direction of travel Robbi took as he presumably headed for Montana. Authorities say he could have taken Highway 21 to Stanley, Highway 75 to Challis, then Highway 93 to Montana -- or he could have taken Highway 55 to Orofino then Highway 12 to Montana.

Weather has not been good this week in the area where he may be traveling. Thunder, lighting, torrential rainstorms, mudslides and nighttime temperatures are getting down into the 30's.

that vehicle won't be hard to recognize if they can figure out his most likely route wonder what bodies of water are close that he might've wanted to attempt?

Robbi was driving a green 1997 Subaru Legacy with the California license plate 6CCP540. The vehicle should have one or two kayaks on the roof.
