Sarah Jane Ortiz, 20, was reported missing by friends and family after she failed to return home July 14, the release from the office of DeKalb Sheriff Jimmy Harris states.

A fisherman found the body, which appeared to have been in the water for some time, near Yellow Creek Church in Leesburg.

Harris reports the investigation is now focused in Cherokee County after her personal items turned up in Leesburg... They are still investigating the circumstances of her timeline from when she left Hammondville until she was last seen in Leesburg late Sunday or early Monday.

Cherokee County authorities have arrested a 17-year-old Cedar Bluff man in connection with the death of a woman pulled from Weiss Lake last month.

Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver said Riley J. Henderson has been charged with capital murder. The charges are in connection with the death of Sarah Ortiz, 20, of Valley Head, whose body was discovered by a fisherman in Weiss Lake near Leesburg July 18.
