Larisa T. Zimmerman is headed to state prison after admitting Wednesday in Schuylkill County Court that she threw her son against a wall in August 2014 in Pottsville.

A solemn Zimmerman, 18, of Pottsville, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children, with prosecutors withdrawing a charge of simple assault.

President Judge William E. Baldwin accepted Zimmerman’s plea and, pursuant to an agreement between prosecutors and the defendant, sentenced her to serve three to nine years in a state correctional institution...
