I love Elkhart, and the Amish who live there. Lots of flat land and fields. I wonder if they know what she bought at the store. Not much on her story.

Community members say in recent weeks several Hispanic women have reported being approached by individuals while out grocery shopping, though they don't know if Reyes' disappearance is connected.

"We do have serious concerns because there have been numerous complaints recently of Hispanic women going to shop at Hispanic grocery stores and being accosted by individuals and being harassed and followed," said attorney Felipe Merino.

The top 4 posts in the Missing Persons forum here are from IN. Not insinuating they are related but, what the heck is going on there??

Did nobody report a burning vehicle? Was there any warning at all by LE regarding these reports made by other women?
Her children are precious.

"We've had reports that there have been other Latino women that have been accosted at other Mexican markets while doing their grocery shopping for the day," said Merino

He fears that undocumented Latino women are especially vulnerable to attack. That's because they don't understand English very well, if at all, and they often won't ask for help for fear of being deported.

Still no answers in the missing person's case of Anastasia Reyes-Cortez. Police suspected foul play was involved in her disappearance when they found her burned-out van in Wakarusa. They say they're still getting tips, but they haven't found anything new. That van was first discovered by a search party comprised of her family and friends.

About 50 or so neighbors, friends and concerned community members (mostly undocumented Latino immigrants) start the searches at the spot where they found the burned van. From there they search nearby rivers, parks, dumpsters and under bridges...

"I have faith that she is still alive," said her husband Reveriano Ortega. "But all the same, we're looking for whatever is left."

The Homicide Unit is investigating the case due to suspicions of foul play along with the size of the investigation, Capt. Kris Seymore said.

“We also have a Hispanic police officer temporarily assigned to the unit to assist in interviews,” Seymore said, because many Spanish-speaking individuals are being interviewed in the case. “Lead information and tips are still coming in and being followed up on and interviews are still being conducted.”

Evidence indicates an Elkhart woman missing for nearly a month returned home after she was last seen at a grocery store...

Sgt. Steve Price of the Elkhart Police Department Homicide Unit said investigators have information that indicates Cortes Reyes made it home from the grocery store before she went missing.

Her husband said he spoke to Cortes Reyes on the phone before she went shopping and she did not sound threatened or alarmed. He said he realized she was missing when she didn’t come home from her evening shift at Monogram Foods in Bristol.
