GA - Jeronta Brown, 24, & Briana Brooks, 21, abducted & killed, Decatur, 30 Aug 2014

Police say Jeronta Brown, 24, and Briana Brooks, 21, were kidnapped and then each shot in the head sometime before 6 a.m. Saturday. Brown died but Brooks was rushed to an area hospital and is listed in serious condition. Police said she was seven months pregnant. She is on life support after giving birth to a healthy baby girl. The family says Brooks and Brown also have an 8-month-old daughter.

DeKalb police said the couple was attacked outside their home on Coleen Court in Decatur at about 12:30 a.m.

According to police, a group of men grabbed the couple, handcuffed them, and put them in a van before speeding off.

Witnesses tell FOX 5 a couple pulled up to their DeKalb County home just after midnight Saturday after getting something to eat. They say a brown van pulled in behind them, then men posing as FBI agents got out and proceeded to abduct them.

Family members say 23-year-old Jeronta Brown and Briana Brooks, Brown's fiancée, were abducted at gunpoint, handcuffed and shot.

Police say the two victims were left on Ridge Avenue in northwest Atlanta where they found by person who lives nearby.

A pregnant Decatur woman is being kept alive by a ventilator at Grady Memorial Hospital after she and her fiancé, Jeronta Brown, were kidnapped on Saturday...

Kawana Brown said two men with masks knocked on the door of their Decatur home and identified themselves as the FBI. Jeronta Brown, his fiancé, his sister, and the couple's child arrived at the same time as the kidnappers...

Police said the kidnappers put the couple into handcuffs and took them away. Jeronta Brown's sister was able to run away with the couple's young daughter.

In the second kidnapping, a woman was taken in East Atlanta and found almost 18 hours later Thursday around7 p.m. Guerrucci declined to give any details about the kidnap victim, the ransom demand, how she was found or where she was found. He said police feared for her safety.

Kawana Brown said her son's kidnappers called several times with ransom demands before killing him. Police said the suspects in Thursday's kidnapping made similar demands. There is no motive yet but police don't believe the kidnappings are random, rather the victims were targeted for some reason.

“We do not think that we have a kidnapping crew just randomly going around and snatching people off the road,” Guerrucci said.

Brown's stepfather said he thinks a large disability settlement he recently received and spent is a possible reason this happened.

Atlanta Police are hoping a $20,000 reward will get them closer to making arrests in the kidnapping and murder of a DeKalb County couple. Police called it a horrible incident with two innocent people who were violently killed...

Jeronta's mother thanked friends and family who came up with the money for the reward... "I get up at night crying about it, and I can't sleep, and I want to ask the Lord please get these bad guys off the street," Kawana Brown said.

Police have arrested a suspect in the kidnapping and murder case of a DeKalb County couple.

Atlanta Police spokesperson Kim Jones says Andre Cleveland Gay was arrested early Friday morning .

Gay is charged with killing Jeronta Brown and his girlfriend Briana Brooks. A judge denied Gay bond and he's due in court again October 10.

Gay was previously convicted of felony murder and subsequently sentenced to life in prison on July 8, 1991, according to the Fulton County District Attorney's Office. "How did he get out of jail if he did something like that?" said Kawana Brown, Jeronta Brown's mother.

Additionally, the U.S. Marshals are requesting public assistance locating a second suspect in the incident: a fugitive wanted for a wide range of violent crimes throughout the metro area, including several counts of murder, kidnapping, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Richard Augusta Wilson, 41, AKA "Fathead," is accused of participating in the kidnapping and killing of Brooks and Brown... Wilson is 6 feet tall and weighs 171 pounds. He has multiple tattoos on both arms and shoulders and has a gold tooth.
