Drones to be used in search for Christina Morris
    September 9, 2014

PLANO — A new batch of volunteers gathered Tuesday morning at a church as the search for 23-year-old Christina Morris continues.

The search for the Fort Worth woman, who was last seen at the Shops at Legacy in Plano on Aug. 30, resumed in areas difficult to cover by foot -- such as the wooded areas around the shopping center.

UPDATED 4:02 p.m. Video: Christina's mom speaks about disappearance

Jonni McElroy, Morris' mother, said the missing woman's boyfriend is devastated by his girlfriend's disappearance and has helped distribute flyers and search on numerous occasions. McElroy said he and his father drove up to Choctaw Casino in Durant, Okla. and distributed flyers at truck stops and other locations along the way.
Miller said although there is no indication of foul play, he has advised the family to stay back at the command center at Legacy Church in case something is found.
When asked how long Texas EquuSearch plans to be in town, Miller said although he hopes only until "2 p.m. today when we find Christina," his team will stay as long as it takes to bring the 23-year-old home.

    Where is Christina?

The search for Christina Morris intensified this week as Texas EquuSearch arrived in town Monday to aid in the search for the missing 23-year-old who was last seen around 4 a.m. Aug. 30 in a parking garage at The Shops at Legacy.
The nonprofit organization, which has aided law enforcement and families in the search for missing people since 2000, spent Monday catching up on the investigation, mapping out the area and driving around to gain familiarity.
“We don’t have any evidence of foul play and we don’t have any evidence that she left on her own,” said Tim Miller, founder and director of TexasEquuSearch. “We’ve got one fact – she’s missing. We did a lot of driving and a lot of reconnaissance and we’re holding onto the hope that she is alive out there somewhere, but in the case something else happened I think we’ve got some areas of interest that we want to search.”

Green Country Family Searching For Missing Daughter

Her mom, Jonni McElroy and her stepdad Ronnie left their jobs in the Tulsa area right after she disappeared to go search for her.

"We can't sleep. I have two different visions, I see her smile, and I also vision the worst and I don't like that at all,” said McElroy.

Search Continues for Missing Fort Worth Woman

"If this had happened to me, I would want everyone possible out here helping me," she said. "It's a mother's worst nightmare."
More than a week after Morris disappeared from the parking lot at the Shops at Legacy, police still have no suspects and no tips on where she might be located.
"She has disappeared, and we've got nothing that gives us any direction of where she might be at this time," said Plano Police Ofc. David Tilley.

More Resources Being Used for Woman Missing in Plano

Wednesday, Sep 10, 2014 • Updated at 11:08 PM CDT
The Federal Aviation Administration has now given the non-profit search and rescue group from Houston called EquuSearch clearance to use a drone between Sept. 11-15 to help look for a 23-year-old woman who went missing in Plano.
"It's an emotional roller coaster," said Sarah Estes, the victims' step-sister. "We're staying positive, but every once in a while reality sets in."

FAA approves drone use to search for Christina Morris

    Posted Wednesday, Sep. 10, 2014

The Federal Aviation Administration on Wednesday gave a Houston-based search-and-recovery group approval to use a drone in the search for Christina Marie Morris, a 23-year-old Fort Worth woman last seen in a Plano parking garage.

Morris was last seen walking with a male friend through the garage at The Shops at Legacy at 3:55 a.m. Aug. 30.

The volunteer group Texas EquuSearch sued the FAA this year over a February warning they received against drone usage. Morris’ stepmother said she is glad EquuSearch was granted emergency approval this time.

“They can cover more ground quicker, so that just to me means she might be getting home sooner rather than later,” Anna Morris said. “It’s good to have everything we can have, but it was frustrating waiting for it.”

PLANO — The search for Christina Morris finished another day on Wednesday without any credible leads. Searchers on foot, by horseback and all-terrain vehicles covered nearly 20 square miles in Plano and Allen.

"I can say that we're frustrated, but we're not ready to quit," said Tim Miller of Texas Equusearch.

Equusearch updates on search for Christina

    http://texasequusearch.org/2014/09/m...lano-tx-83014/

Search Update 11 September 2014: The active search for 23 year-old Christina Morris is being suspended until law enforcement receives further information on her disappearance. THIS IS ONLY A SUSPENSION, AND NOT A TERMINATION OF THE SEARCH. The police investigation into Christina’s disappearance continues.

The Texas EquuSearch team will reactivate and return to Plano to search for Christina, when investigators obtain more credible and significant information. We ask that everyone please keep Christina’s family, friends, the Plano Police Department and her whole community in your thoughts and prayers.

Reward raised, family of Christina Morris desperate for answers

This morning, the Plano Police Department announced that an anonymous donor has contributed $15,000 to Crime Stoppers, raising the reward for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in the Aug. 30 disappearance of Christina Morris to $25,000.

“We are beyond grateful for the generous individual who donated toward the reward,” said Sarah Estes, the missing woman’s sister. “We hope and pray that this huge increase will bring forth promising information to bring Christina home. If you know something, however small or insignificant it may seem, please speak up.”

Reward for woman missing from Plano garage now $25,000

The reward for a missing Fort Worth woman last seen in a Plano parking garage has increased by $15,000, thanks to another anonymous donation, Plano police said Monday.

The reward is now $25,000; the standard amount offered by CrimeStoppers is $5,000, police said.

Christina Marie Morris, 23, was last seen with a friend walking to her car in a garage at The Shops at Legacy at 3:55 a.m. Aug. 30. Police said Morris and her friends met at an apartment that night, patronized local businesses and reconvened at the apartment.

Banding Together: Morris Family Raising Money to Help Search For Christina
    POSTED 9:26 PM, OCTOBER 24, 2014

Morris’ face has been everywhere — from billboards and flyers asking for any info on her whereabouts. From that, Estes and her brother Jake Morris, felt like they could do more to get the word out. So, they started printing shirts and bracelets.

Mom Reveals New Details About Christina Morris Case
Tuesday, Nov 4, 2014 • Updated at 5:45 AM CST

The mother of a woman who went missing in Plano in August wants people to know what Plano police are telling her about the search for her daughter, Christina Morris.
“We’ve learned that Enrique [Arochi] has lied since day one,” said Jonni McElroy, Morris's mother.

Still, McElroy said police told her Arochi's phone history was cleared before police confiscated it.
"He was trying to erase information. That is the way I look at it," she said. "Why do you need to erase every single thing from the phone?"

Police Search Car Of Man Last Seen With Christina Morris
    November 4, 2014 12:55 PM

According to the warrant, which was executed in September, police searched Arochi’s 2010 Chevrolet Camaro for bodily fluids, hair and DNA evidence. The warrant does not say what was found.
Police also say Arochi has made many false statements over the course of the investigation, which have hindered detectives, including lying about contacting Morris’ boyfriend right after she disappeared.

The courts have unsealed a telling search warrant affidavit that gives the first solid clues where Plano Police are headed in their investigation into a missing Fort Worth woman.
The man who police say was last seen with Christina Morris denies any wrongdoing, even after police searched his vehicle for a second time.
Enrique Arochi is still a person of interest in the missing person investigation of Morris, but he denies he did anything improper.
