Drones to be used in search for Christina Morris
September 9, 2014

PLANO — A new batch of volunteers gathered Tuesday morning at a church as the search for 23-year-old Christina Morris continues.

The search for the Fort Worth woman, who was last seen at the Shops at Legacy in Plano on Aug. 30, resumed in areas difficult to cover by foot -- such as the wooded areas around the shopping center.

UPDATED 4:02 p.m. Video: Christina's mom speaks about disappearance

Jonni McElroy, Morris' mother, said the missing woman's boyfriend is devastated by his girlfriend's disappearance and has helped distribute flyers and search on numerous occasions. McElroy said he and his father drove up to Choctaw Casino in Durant, Okla. and distributed flyers at truck stops and other locations along the way.
Miller said although there is no indication of foul play, he has advised the family to stay back at the command center at Legacy Church in case something is found.
When asked how long Texas EquuSearch plans to be in town, Miller said although he hopes only until "2 p.m. today when we find Christina," his team will stay as long as it takes to bring the 23-year-old home.

Where is Christina?

The search for Christina Morris intensified this week as Texas EquuSearch arrived in town Monday to aid in the search for the missing 23-year-old who was last seen around 4 a.m. Aug. 30 in a parking garage at The Shops at Legacy.
The nonprofit organization, which has aided law enforcement and families in the search for missing people since 2000, spent Monday catching up on the investigation, mapping out the area and driving around to gain familiarity.
“We don’t have any evidence of foul play and we don’t have any evidence that she left on her own,” said Tim Miller, founder and director of TexasEquuSearch. “We’ve got one fact – she’s missing. We did a lot of driving and a lot of reconnaissance and we’re holding onto the hope that she is alive out there somewhere, but in the case something else happened I think we’ve got some areas of interest that we want to search.”

Green Country Family Searching For Missing Daughter

Her mom, Jonni McElroy and her stepdad Ronnie left their jobs in the Tulsa area right after she disappeared to go search for her.

"We can't sleep. I have two different visions, I see her smile, and I also vision the worst and I don't like that at all,” said McElroy.

Search Continues for Missing Fort Worth Woman

"If this had happened to me, I would want everyone possible out here helping me," she said. "It's a mother's worst nightmare."
More than a week after Morris disappeared from the parking lot at the Shops at Legacy, police still have no suspects and no tips on where she might be located.
"She has disappeared, and we've got nothing that gives us any direction of where she might be at this time," said Plano Police Ofc. David Tilley.

The Federal Aviation Administration has now given the non-profit search and rescue group from Houston called EquuSearch clearance to use a drone between Sept. 11-15 to help look for a 23-year-old woman who went missing in Plano.
"It's an emotional roller coaster," said Sarah Estes, the victims' step-sister. "We're staying positive, but every once in a while reality sets in."

FAA approves drone use to search for Christina Morris

Posted Wednesday, Sep. 10, 2014

The Federal Aviation Administration on Wednesday gave a Houston-based search-and-recovery group approval to use a drone in the search for Christina Marie Morris, a 23-year-old Fort Worth woman last seen in a Plano parking garage.

Morris was last seen walking with a male friend through the garage at The Shops at Legacy at 3:55 a.m. Aug. 30.

The volunteer group Texas EquuSearch sued the FAA this year over a February warning they received against drone usage. Morris’ stepmother said she is glad EquuSearch was granted emergency approval this time.

“They can cover more ground quicker, so that just to me means she might be getting home sooner rather than later,” Anna Morris said. “It’s good to have everything we can have, but it was frustrating waiting for it.”

Tuesday, Nov 4, 2014 • Updated at 5:45 AM CST

The mother of a woman who went missing in Plano in August wants people to know what Plano police are telling her about the search for her daughter, Christina Morris.
“We’ve learned that Enrique [Arochi] has lied since day one,” said Jonni McElroy, Morris's mother.

Still, McElroy said police told her Arochi's phone history was cleared before police confiscated it.
"He was trying to erase information. That is the way I look at it," she said. "Why do you need to erase every single thing from the phone?"

Police Search Car Of Man Last Seen With Christina Morris
November 4, 2014 12:55 PM

According to the warrant, which was executed in September, police searched Arochi’s 2010 Chevrolet Camaro for bodily fluids, hair and DNA evidence. The warrant does not say what was found.
Police also say Arochi has made many false statements over the course of the investigation, which have hindered detectives, including lying about contacting Morris’ boyfriend right after she disappeared.

Person Of Interest Denies Wrongdoing In Disappearance Of Christina Morris

November 4, 2014 2:43 PM

The courts have unsealed a telling search warrant affidavit that gives the first solid clues where Plano Police are headed in their investigation into a missing Fort Worth woman.

Man Last Seen with Morris Accused of Theft

Man’s statements in missing woman’s case at odds with photos

Plano police obtained a search warrant in late September for the car owned by the man last seen with Christina Marie Morris, 23, of Fort Worth, who disappeared from a parking garage at The Shops at Legacy in the early morning hours of Aug. 30.

She hasn’t been seen since.

The affidavit for the search warrant states that the man, Enrique Gutierrez Arochi of Allen — a high school friend of the missing woman — made false statements about where he parked his car in the garage, and about details of the last time he was with Morris.

Home Video Shows Missing Woman Christina Morris

NBC 5 has obtained home video of missing North Texas woman Christina Morris that's never been seen shown to the public before.
It was shot a year ago by one of Morris' friends.

Morris' mother, Jonni McElroy, and other family members have worked tirelessly to find the 23-year-old since she disappeared more than two months ago.
McElroy said she believes they are getting closer to finding out what happened to her daughter.

Christina’s Crew stands strong amidst matriarch’s departure
Wednesday, November 19, 2014

Jonni McElroy may be packing her bags and heading home to Tulsa, Okla. this weekend, but she wants the army of supporters – and Enrique Arochi – to know she’s not giving up on finding her daughter, Christina Morris, who disappeared Aug. 30 after a night out with friends.
“Just because I’m going up there doesn’t mean I’m stopping. I’m trying to find an even balance in my life. I have to – I have no choice – and Christina would want that,” she said. “She has two stepbrothers who love her dearly, [my husband] Ronnie loves her dearly. The hardest part is not continuing the search part physically. [My daughter did not just disappear], a criminal act has happened, plain and simple. And nobody seems to have the guts or the conscience to come forward and let us know what happened or where she is. And that’s nothing compared to the strength that we’ve had to have to fight for her.

Plano Police Conduct New Search for Christina Morris

"Plano police are searching Wednesday afternoon for missing woman Christina Morris, nearly three months after she was last seen."

from:
http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/Pla...283252741.html

Three months. Three months. That is a long, long time to know not very much more now than you knew on the day you were notified that your daughter is missing. Think about it -- three months. Sleep doesn't come easily, I'm sure. Food doesn't taste good either, I would guess. And when the phone rings -- you hope for good news. What a way to live each day. Friends and family are close and would do anything you ask, but what do you ask? Prayers, putting up flyers, checking in with LE. A private detective? What, what, what? Is she alive and okay? Is she alive and tied up in some basement somewhere? Or is her body buried in a shallow grave somewhere between home and Timbuktu? Where is my baby girl? Oh, my.
