Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

Family members of Jackson were gathered in the nearby parking lot at Rafter’s Sports Bar & Restaurant and could be seen hugging and crying. One woman who identified herself as a family member said the search was continuous throughout the weekend by the family and police and included several sites in the vicinity of University Drive, including a homeless encampment behind Big Y Supermarket.

One man with the family cursed at police officers and blamed them for the person’s death.

Jackson’s wife, Britney Archambault-Jackson, posted on her Facebook page that a candelight vigil in Jackson’s memory will be held at Rolling Green Apartments Tuesday at 9 p.m.

I feel so bad for the family, but can't understand this sentiment. From the articles I've read, including her wife's FB comments, it sounded like LE was making a great effort to locate her...

The Daily Hampshire Gazette reported that more than 50 people gathered around flowers and memorabilia from Jackson's life near where she lived with her wife, Britney Archambault-Jackson, and her cousin Aaron Caldwell.

Caldwell told the Gazette that he was the last person Jackson contacted on Friday by text message. "She told me she loved me so much and to stay strong and that she was so sorry," Caldwell said. It was the night before his 24th birthday.

AMHERST – The state Medical Examiner has yet to determine the cause of death for Marissa Jackson, the 26-year-old Amherst woman found dead Tuesday off University Drive, but an official with the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office said Friday the death does not appear to be a homicide.

First District Attorney Steven E. Gagne released a statement to the local press that said Jackson’s body did not have any wounds that would have brought about her death. The medical examiner is still waiting for results of a toxicology report, Gagne said.
