A man has been arrested for the alleged kidnapping and torture of a woman he had been dating for a matter of days.

Timothy John Hayes, 33, is accused of imprisoning the 27-year-old woman in his home Monday evening in the 500 block of Jeffrey Drive in San Luis Obispo, where he restrained her with tape. Police say he spent two hours torturing her with various objects including scissors, a knife and a pool cue, as well as hot kitchen utensils.

Police responded around 11:30 Monday night to a call to help an assault victim inside the Chevron station at 151 Santa Rosa. A woman was found hiding inside after officers arrived.

The 27-year old woman had significant injuries covering her entire body, including burn marks, lacerations, scratches, bruising, and extreme swelling. She also had tape tangled in her hair...

A search warrant found evidence backing up the woman's story of torture and detention. Officers also found and removed a .22 caliber handgun and a high power rifle from the home.

omgaw what is wrong with people? Guess the old school rule of not going to a date's apartment until you've dated a while still holds true.

Timothy Hayes entered a 'not guilty' plea Friday during his first court appearance, after being accused of five felonies including torturing a woman and holding her captive in his family's San Luis Obispo home earlier this week.

The San Luis Obispo County District Attorney's Office filed charges against Hayes, 33, on Thursday. The felony charges include torture, corporal injury, assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment and criminal threats, and include multiple enhancements...

Hayes remains in the County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail.

Hayes faces possible life in prison for torture, attempted murder and other charges. But, his attorney, Ilan Funke-Bilu, says Hayes and his former girlfriend enjoyed bondage and included it as a regular part of their relationship...

But the victim also provided a detailed account of the alleged torture. “It turned into a lot of punching and kicking with full force, as if like a male-on-male fight,” the woman said. “I was thrown against the wall and kicked as hard as a soccer ball.”

She also testified that Hayes tried to cut off her breasts with a pair of 12-inch scissors, saying, “Babe, I need these for myself.”

Hayes is out on bail as of January 8, due back in court in March:
