TX - Three people killed, 10yo boy injured in Corpus Christi shooting, 14 Sept 2014
Three people are dead this morning from a shooting rampage in Flour Bluff last night. According to CCPD, 63-year-old Sammuel Toomey confessed to detectives that he was responsible for killing 3 people and wounding a child...
People at the Marina Village in Flour Bluff called police frantically on Sunday night, saying someone was shooting outside their homes. When officers arrived, they found two women and a man dead on the scene, and a 10-year-old boy who was shot. Police said one of those victims was the child's mother.
The young boy is in Driscoll Children's Hospital in critical condition.
Officers arrived and found a 32-year-old woman, a 53-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man all fatally shot outside various homes within the mobile home park along Redfish and Sailfish courts...
Toomey was arrested on suspicion of capital murder of multiple persons because the crime led to the death of more than one person and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony, for shooting the child, police said.
Toomey remained Monday in Nueces County Jail. His bail totals $3.1 million, jail officials said.

McGuire and others at the park tell KRIS 6 News the shooting suspect, 63-year-old Sammuel Toomey, called police numerous times over the past few weeks, complaining about loud noise or other minor disturbances. Police confirmed Monday afternoon that the three victims were not random, but targeted by Toomey as part of the ongoing dispute...
Neighbors say Toomey moved to the park roughly 10 years ago. At that time, the park was only open to residents age 55 and over.
It opened up in the last two years to younger residents, and Toomey's neighbors say he was increasingly upset about the problems he believed the younger tenants brought with them. Toomey's final complaint to police came just hours before the shooting.

Jail officials said Sammuel Everett Toomey strangled himself, and the medical examiner’s office said Wednesday his death was caused by mechanical asphyxiation, but footage from the cell block to corroborate the account does not exist, Nueces County Sheriff Jim Kaelin said.
“That camera was not working because a new system is being installed,” Kaelin said. “We were told they would not be functioning periodically”...
Toomey... was found dead in a cell with his pants tied around his neck late Sept. 18, Assistant Chief of Jail Administration Michael McKenzie said Friday.
