2. Alibi fell flat
a. Wasn’t really working on IBM job when he said he was that morning
b. Didn’t really run to the YMCA from his home
3. Lied repeatedly to investigators (and family)
a. Told investigators Jen had gone shopping in Syracuse; later testimony revealed Jen’s van had mechanical problems – the shopping trip was being planned later that week w/ ES, using ES’s car. Jen told her online friend that morning she was going to the bank for the money order, that she was going shopping later that week.
b. Told police Jen left to go shopping between 10 and 10:30 that morning; investigation showed her phone connected to the home’s wireless router at 10:57
c. Told police that when he got home (around 8) that morning from taking the kids to school, Jen was sitting in her bathrobe eating yogurt. But evidence showed she was playing game online and chatting w/ gaming friend and suddenly disappeared from online at 8:15
d. State of their marriage

e. Told police he was working on his computer that morning; evidence showed his computer was idle from 8:15 AM to 10:54 AM
f. Told police he ran from home to YMCA at mid-day. No security cameras showed him passing by on the route he gave police. Later, changed his story, and gave a different route. No cameras showed him on that route either. Rather, camera showed him approaching Y from west (direction of apartments where van was left)
g. Told investigators and Jen’s family that she was a drug addict (no drugs found in tox screen)
h. Said he never touched Jen’s phone, but actually touched the snapchat, which took a photo
4. Bizarre & Inappropriate Behavior just after Jen went missing
a. Didn’t invite ES in for sex when she gave him a ride home day of murder; would have almost surely taken advantage of Jen being “out of town shopping” if that really was the case
b. Unusually upset when called police night Jen went missing – said something terrible must have happened to her as she’d have never left him or the children
c. Next day, spoke calmly with close friend Jason on phone; chatted 5 minutes before mentioning Jen was missing
d. Next day, found phone, even when police had already searched that area and not seen it. The phone was in a spot where couldn’t be readily seen from bridge, but GR spotted it miraculously. The phone was undamaged, not a scratch, even though it had allegedly fallen or been thrown 30 feet from the bridge unto a rocky area.
e. GR’s parents arrived the day after Jen went missing. GR told them, “I don’t want you here; go home!”
f. Jen’s parents arrived two days after Jen went missing. GR told them Jen had left with another man. Screamed at Jen’s parents and sister that she had betrayed him; told them his mistress was a better Mom than Jen ever was
g. Didn’t want Jen’s sister to look for Jennifer
h. Remy’s friend Jason bought plane tickets to come up to NY when Jen went missing to help find her; Remy got angry and told him not to come
i. Five days after Jen went missing, propositioned banker for 3-way tryst

k. In first week after Jen went missing, wrote on his FB page that the first funeral he would ever attend would be his wife’s
l. In first week after Jen went missing, tried to show Jen’s mother nude photos of Jen, insinuating that she was sending nude photos to other women. Trial demonstrated that the nude photos were on GR’s computer and phone, along with some of them together, and also some of E. Sayles. The photos were for him/some by him and/or of him. Both ES’s photos and JR’s photos around Halloween 2012.
m. Repeatedly told Jen’s parents that she was on drugs – a drug addict.
n. GR's mistress testified he never looked for Jen; he was controlling and manipulative -- changed her mailing address without her permission, was verbally abusive, screamed at her. Taped phone called recorded GR telling his mistress that Jen was a drug addict, and had been having an affair with another guy for 1 year and a half.
o. Four days after Jen went missing, Inspector Powell reported that in interview, GR more concerned about public finding out about his affair than the fact that his wife was missing

c. Remy & Jen’s blood found mixed together on sweatshirt Remy wore that day
d. Little or no snow under Jen’s body. Left there before snow started later that week
e. Mud splatters indicate van used to dispose of Jen’s body on day she went missing. Raining that day; dry next 5 days until van found.
6. No other suspects; no one else who disliked Jen or wanted her dead
Defense
1. Police bungled job
2. Only looked at GR; didn’t look at anyone else
3. GR couldn’t have disposed of the phone, Jen’s body, left the van at the apartments and gotten to the Y in just 74 minutes. (actually, ORR already proved it could be done in less than an hour; I think prosecution has made that clear with their maps – hope so!!)
