TN - Bobby Dozier, 80, found murdered, Springville, 14 Sept 2014
Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew said Dozier was first reported missing on Monday... HCSO began assisting CCSO in an attempt to find Dozier by tracking his cell phone signal, which led deputies to the area of the Tennessean Golf Club in Springville, which is in the eastern part of Henry County. He said deputies saturated the area Monday afternoon and evening without finding Dozier.
Belew said that at the same time deputies were looking for Dozier near the golf course, they learned that Dozierís dog had been found on Port Road near a boat ramp, which he said is a substantial distance from the golf course. On Tuesday morning... Dozierís 2010 Ford Focus was found in a different part of the county parked in the parking lot of Progressive Baptist Church, located at 1040 Rison St. near TN 69 in Paris...
Tuesday afternoon, Dozierís body was found on Tennessee Trail, which Belew said is a small, gravel road near the Tennessean Golf Club. The body was found in some thick, dense brush, and a homicide investigation was initiated at that time, Belew said.
The Henry County Sheriffís Office held a press conference Monday morning to make the announcement that Toby B. Carter, 37, of 383 Russwood Drive in Springville, Tennessee, has been charged with first-degree murder and aggravated kidnapping in the death of Dozier, 80, who lived in New Concord...
Carter has a criminal history in Illinois and had been charged with at least three felonies in the past. He said Carter had been out of an Illinois state peneteniary for about 17 months.
This was a quick arrest due to some new resources in Henry County, "I would like to make mention our new crime scene technician unit"... The Henry County crime scene unit formed just eight weeks ago, "It is a new division and it was very helpful."
The unit helped in documenting and gathering minute pieces of evidence, including DNA at the scene of Bobby Dozier's death, even using aerial drones.
