Investigators said they responded to the home in the 3700 block of Oaklawn Lane around 1:35 a.m. following a robbery call. When they arrived, they found a 50-year-old man near the front door, suffering from a stab wound. The man was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

On Saturday afternoon, authorities told CBS2’s Greg Mills that the son has been missing since the stabbing took place. There was no sign of forced entry at the home, where the slain man lived with his wife, their son, Sergio, and a woman who rents a room...

Deputies have been called to the home a number of times in the past year for domestic violence issues.

Murder and other charges were filed Friday against a 15-year-old boy police say was involved in a fatal Pico Rivera home-invasion robbery.

Angel Emilio Estrello, who was charged as an adult, is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Downey on one count each of murder and first-degree burglary and two counts of home-invasion robbery in connection with the stabbing death of Sergio Gutierrez.

Sergio Anthony Gutierrez, the victim’s 17-year-old son, and Jesus Rafael Adame, 18, were charged Tuesday with the same counts. They are scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 7 in Norwalk.

The three teens are accused of attacking Sergio Gutierrez, 50, at his home in the 3700 block of Oaklawn Lane. After the killing, the defendants allegedly stole cash, credit cards and the family car, according to prosecutors...

Homicide detectives were called to the scene in a gated community just south of the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area. A tip led them to the suspects the following day, authorities said.

The DA’s office said it will decide later whether to seek the death penalty against Adame or life in prison without the possibility of parole. Estrello and Gutierrez are not eligible for the death penalty because of their age.

The most unfortunate thing is they are not all 18 years of age. Just horrific to read of yet another parent murdered by a greedy child and his "friends".
