22-month-old Brayden King of Decatur, Alabama, drowned in a church's baptismal tank Friday, while in the care of his 13-year-old teen sister, as mom prepared for a prayer meeting. The water was 33inches deep.
'The child apparently managed to get into the area behind the altar to the baptistery. The area includes a large rectangular water tank which faces the congregation, but the tank is obscured by an altar wall.'
Bishop TD Strong said Brayden was a 'prayer baby' as he and Brayden's mom had spent years praying that she could conceive him.
"I've been preaching 30 years, this is the first time in my ministry I've been speechless. I know (God) is too wise to make mistakes, but in my humanity, I can't lie. I've had to get on my knees."
