The Rules

Guys, no one has been named a suspect or a person of interest, so please don't sleuth them or post their social media.

Also, at this everyone is considered a victim and we are victim friendly place, please post accordingly.

Victim Friendly

Websleuths is a victim friendly forum. Attacking or bashing a victim is not allowed. Discussing victim behavior, good or bad is fine, but do so in a civil and constructive way and ONLY IF IT IS RELEVANT TO THE CASE. Additionally, sleuthing family members or others that are not suspect is not allowed. Don't make random accusations or post personal information (even if it is public) like parking tickets, address, or first and last names of all their relatives and their neighbors. Also, never "bash" or attack them, or accuse them of involvement. However that does not mean that family members or others cannot come into discussion as the facts and issues of the case are discussed.

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?65798-Etiquette-amp-Information

Please leave rumors out of the discussion as they tend to grow legs.

Thank you all and welcome all new members!

Facebook

Social Networks

Regarding Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and other social networking or blog websites: Links may be used to direct posters to view something on a social networking page. But postings on social networking sites are not considered fact; they are rumor. Copying and pasting, or taking screen caps, directly from these pages is not allowed. Paraphrasing is okay. (Exception: If the Twitter or Facebook post belongs to a verified news station, it may be copied. But a link should still be provided.)

Also, social networking pages may only be linked if they are directly related to a case, i.e. the victim or suspect. We don't want to post to someone's mother, brother, employer, milkman, or postal carrier just because they know the main player. We also NEVER link to minor's pages (unless they are the victim). And be sure that the page actually belongs to the person being discussed. Do not link to someone if you are not 100% sure it is the correct person. And if a social networking is set to private and you get in the back way, you may not post what you find. Private means private!

Organized Efforts- Email Campaigns-Boycotts-Petitions:

Obviously members are free to take up any and all causes that are important to them in an effort to bring about change. But using Websleuths as a platform to promote organized efforts such as email campaigns, boycotts, letter writing, etc. are strictly forbidden without the consent of the forum owners. If you have written a letter or taken any action in support of a cause, please refrain from posting about it. Support of a particular cause must be approved by the owners prior to posting links or information regarding any such effort. Causes can be questionable in nature, even though they appear to be honorable on the surface. As it relates to using WS as a platform for promotion, the owners investigate the nature and source of such campaigns and make their own decisions as to the legitimacy of each cause. Please do not suggest, directly or indirectly, that members support any type of organized effort without getting approval from forum owners first.

Discussing Donations, Fundraising etc. is not allowed without the permission of the owners.

O/T but just on news:

(PIX11) — Members of an identity theft ring accused of stealing personal information from Saks Fifth Avenue customers to purchase luxury goods for resale on the black market have been indicted, officials said Monday.

The alleged robbers include four Saks Fifth Avenue sales associates and a ringleader who provided them with Social Security numbers and birthdays of more than 20 store credit card holders.

Tamara Williams, 36, Kriss Rockson, 45, Jason Chance, 25, Alaia Harrison, 20, and Michael Knight-Williams, 44, allegedly purchased approximately $400,000 in luxury goods from Saks’ Midtown flagship store.

The stolen goods included hundreds of handbags and shoes from designer brands including Chanel, Valentino, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and more.

Williams, the accused ringleader in the scheme, provided personal information to sales associates Rockson, Chance, Harrison and Knight-Williams. The associates would use the stolen information to purchase luxury goods selected by Williams, the Manhattan District Attorney reported.

This case is reminding me of a Lifetime move. I know I know, but those stories are based on actual cases and there are many that involve young people and the circumstances they find themselves in and the measures they take. JMO

Wylie family, police puzzle over mom who vanished

(Sent from WFAA)
OT....
JMO Wow ..a very supportive community ..according to the article :
The Ethiopian community has put up a $10,000 reward for any credible information in the case. Contact Wylie police at 972-442-8170 or call 911 if you know where Almaz Gebremedhin can be found.

Hi, all! Don't know if it helps, but I was searching Craigslist and ebay hoping to find someone selling that custom phone/case (no luck of course). I did run across a few lost and founds on Craigslist. I hope the mom or PPD is contacting or following up to make sure it's not her phone. Here are a couple links I found. You never know if someone unknowingly finds something that's important...and could crack the case. Just throwing it out there....

Speaking of cruel jokes, I noticed a message on the public fb page this morning from the mom, indicating that leads/tips which arrive without contact information are "a very cruel joke" to the family. I agree with validity of the sentiment, but I cringed at the tone and approach. Reminds me of why I unsubscribed from the site back when it was still private.

I worry that too many will be polarized before she is found. And the ones who get turned off might've been the ones with the most to offer, you know? (NOT saying that's me-- just speaking generally.)

Yes..IMHO !!! it is those stages of grief I suppose that are reacting.
But I have to wholeheartedly agree 1000% with what you have said .
IMHO ... The Family themselves need to cut ties with the FB ..it is obviously causing a higher stress level than what is already present.
IMHO .... The Witness's and long time associations of the missing should not have any type of control or monitoring authority over a location where a credible lead or information might be landing at.
IMHO ..... This is why I think a Hired Super PI or 2 should be taking the reins on this ...and to alleviate any additional undue stress.
IMHO... This is why I feel that Grief/Trauma Counseling is more than needed at this time..

Didn't want this observation to be lost in the last thread: in the photos of the first bag being offered on the purse site, did we discuss the masculine-ness of her hands? Are we sure who was selling the bags??

The Wylie case is very intriguing, pretty open and forthcoming, and still fresh. Prayers for a swift outcome! Perhaps I'll divert my attention over there for a bit to recharge.

In Josh Easley's case in UT, a new private FB page was set up for brainstorming and ideas...with the family's permission. However, none of the family members are in the group. It is just too personal and painful for them. This is the first time I have seen this done. I hope it brings answers.

I wanted to dig a bit deeper into this..
This is very conflicting and troublesome to say the least. here is why :
http://www.wfaa.com/story/news/loca...-at-legacy-mysterious-disappearance/15863481/
The family is using candlelight vigils to continue putting Morris' face out to the public. Jonni McElroy, Morris' mother, says Plano police could use some more leads.

"It's a wait game, it's a wait game," McElroy said. "We can continue doing all the research we can but we need everybody, anybody that knows something to please come forward. Please, we beg of you. Don't be scared. You can be anonymous."

I am hoping that her pleas for any help or information stand by her own quoted comment from MSM ..

It makes me wonder then who is actually responding to possible valuable clues and information...

Didn't want this observation to be lost in the last thread: in the photos of the first bag being offered on the purse site, did we discuss the masculine-ness of her hands? Are we sure who was selling the bags??

Can we bring up a pic of a representation ??
