Singer Morrissey has revealed he has undergone numerous treatments to 'scrape cancerous tissue away' and that doctors have told him to stop touring. He told El Mundo in Spain, where he's touring:

"If I die, I die."

Morrissey has had several health issues over the past year or so, but it's the first time he has mentioned they may be cancer related.

I love his music. I hope he's able to conquer it.

'If I die, then I die': Morrissey reveals he has cancer and has been hospitalized
several times in last 18 months causing him to cancel his U.S. summer tour

Morrissey is being treated for cancer.

The former Smiths singer has been hospitalised on several occasions over the last 18 months and he has now revealed that doctors have also been dealing with cancerous tissue in his body.

Despite his diagnosis, the 55-year-old songwriter, whose first name is Stephen, insists he isn't afraid of death and accepts it is something that comes to us all.

Having requested thread to be joined w/ Zweibel's earlier Morrissey cancer effort, I can only use this one to post songs -- fans should know all the Smiths' so I'll restrict myself to a pair of solo numbers; this one....

Trudging slowly over wet sand/ Back to the bench where your clothes were stolen/ This is the coastal town that they forgot to close down/ Armageddon, come Armageddon / Come Armageddon, come....

being -- and fairly easily being -- in my list of all-time top ten....

....and this one being high on the list of all-time favorite covers....

Hoping Mozzer kicks the Big C. An all-time favorite whether fronting the Smiths (GREAT band; huzzah for Johnny Marr!) or solo.

Hell, then. Try this one. (The video sorta sucks anyway.)

I hope he recovers from this nasty illness. My dad had cancer but is now in remission and has been in remission for 7 years! Best of luck to morrissey! There is always hope. :)

A good time, if ever, to say: Think positive Morrissey!

"Lord knows it would be the first time."

Everyone needs to back away now .. Morrissey is MINE!!

Ever since this news broke I have been listening non-stop to The Smiths, read 'There is a light that never goes out' (brilliant read if anyone is interested), watched nothing but Smiths / Morrissey / Marr interviews on YouTube, then watched all the kitchen sink drama's that inspired Moz to begin with, before moving onto the Moors murders documentaries yesterday.

I have also been in bed listless with a fever, and now speak with a manchurian accent.

This is wonderful viewing ..

Mrs. G. Norris, you poor thing.

A teenaged Snoofo gave up the meats after purchasing the album. I started eating the meats again some time after The Smiths broke up and once I realized they weren't getting back. I only bought a couple Morrissey CDs. It was all Smiths for me and all vinyl. I know every word to every song.

Nice video. Oddly I've seen the last half (from LA home) in parts years ago, but never the first half. Noel Gallagher cracks me up. What a delight to see Chrissie Hynde, an all-time fave.

I'm going back to bed now.

You know that Morrissey himself was seen tucking into a piece of fish on tour during Smiths days .. so you know I don't think he was quite as chaste as he seemed, I myself could never give up the seafood.

Noel Gallagher is hilarious :D
