Deputies in Brevard County are asking for the public's help in locating a woman who disappeared two weeks ago.

Yekaterina "Katie" Belaya, a 47-year-old college professor, was last seen near her home on Rock Springs Drive in Suntree.

The mother of three was last seen on Sept. 28, according to the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.

And a very short article here:

"When I got home, my sister said that she had stepped out for 30 minutes to go to the store," said Belaya's daughter, Maria. "We tried getting ahold of her and her phone was off and after that just nothing."
Katie Belaya was a science professor at East Florida State College. She was driving a 2003 Honda Odyssey the night she drove off."

Man finds woman's body in Indian River near Titusville

A man who was placing a kayak in the Indian River in Brevard County made a gruesome discovery -- a dead body.

It happened Thursday afternoon off Riveredge Drive, near the entrance to the Space Center Executive Airport.
Investigators said the deceased person is a female. Her age has not been released.

The woman’s body was pulled out by a dive team.

I don't know if this has any connection or not..........just saw it on the same page as the story linked above.

Katie Belaya was last seen on Sept. 28th. The article above is from yesterday, Oct. 9th

When I heard this on the news, the daughter said she'd been having black out spells, but would come out of it. Why in the world was she even driving if she was blacking out.

This wasn't the missing woman. And it looks like a sad story: http://mynews13.com/content/news/cf...rticles/cfn/2014/10/10/indian_river_body.html

Maybe she was taking medication for it and thought it was under control.

The woman called someone an hour after she left, saying 'I'm so confused, I'm so confused'

Where did you read this? I did not find it in the articles posted here.

ETA: I also googled the phrase in connection with her name - nothing :waitasec:

Black outs and confusion could be problems with the heart/low blood pressure/blood circulation issues. I hope she was diagnosed correctly?

It doesn't sound good ... two weeks have passed and nothing?

If she did this, I wonder what advice she was given. That would be important, and to know if she just hung up or what happened during the call.

I'm just poking around on other areas of WS and wanted to comment that there has been nothing on our local news about this lady. So sad that its been a few weeks and haven't heard anything on the news about this

I was talking to a friend who lives in the area. She says the only reason she knows anything about this is because she saw an online story (I think the one I originally linked to). No flyers and no searches that she's aware of.
