He was only reported missing yesterday, but also, if you google Stephen Perryman missing, you will see a link to a forum that shows archive info about the father's disappearance. It was obviously a very, very difficult time for the family, and I think they may have been burnt by that experience, and hence the reluctance to speak to media or publicize Stephen's case, this time around.

This is just my reading of the situation, I could be wrong.

It's deeply worrying that Stephen's car has been found burned. I hope there are very, very extensive and prolonged searches for him. This family deserve the resources. Having two missing people in the family is just too much for anyone to have to bear.

Maybe more will come out when they get phone records and more info. Such a terrible thing for this family!

A burnt car is usually a clear signal of a criminal seeking to conceal a crime.

But in this case, I am just not certain. It seems like Stephen was reported missing within hours, which suggests there may have already been concerns about his state of mind. And purely statistically, his missing father is thought to have committed suicide. Family and very close friends of a suicide are slightly more likely to commit suicide themselves.

I really hope that's not the case though, and Stephen has just taken off for a while and will be found safe. I really hope that, and that if he's out there, he'll call family to put them out of their torment.
