For some reason the Ewell case from California popped into my mind when I read this.
    Hope they have some leads.

Law enforcement officials gather evidence at Duncan home where three died (Stillwater News Press)

    ---
A half-dozen police officers in uniform and plainclothes moved in and out of the Hruby house throughout the afternoon.
    ---
At one point, a detective and a police officer examined a surveillance camera mounted on the west corner of the two-story brick home.

Later, a uniformed Duncan officer was seen carrying out what appeared to be a DVR.

Later Monday afternoon, the police tape that cordoned off the front yard of the Hruby house as well as the street was extended to encompass a Jeep that neighbors said belongs to the Hruby’s son.

The Hrubys also have a son, Alan, who graduated Duncan High School last spring and attends the University of Oklahoma, according to family friends.
Alan Hruby was being held in Stephens County jail overnight on an unrelated charge related to stolen checks, Foraker said.

They also towed his car from the home, noted in earlier articles.

Deaths of Marlow newspaper publisher, family stun community (newsok.com)

    ---
Duncan has been rocked by horrific killings in recent years.

There was the June 6, 2012, slaying of Velma teenager Braylee Rae Henry, who had inspired others through her volunteer service at the Jesus House homeless shelter in Oklahoma City.

Then there was the thrill killing of Australian baseball player Christopher Lane, 22, who was shot in the back while jogging in Duncan on Aug. 16, 2013. His death attracted widespread attention throughout the United States and in Australia.

“This may rock the community more than the Mr. Lane’s matter, or equally the same,” Duncan attorney Jeff Archer said.

    “It’s pretty devastating. It’s terrible. It’s unfathomable.”

Police are not saying much about their investigation.
    ---
The couple also has a son who is college. News 9 asked authorities where he is in all this, or if he's in custody, and we were told "no comment."

    Duncan Banner:

Deaths of Hruby, wife and daughter stun Duncan and Marlow; Hruby son jailed on ‘unrelated charge,’ police say

    ---
The couple’s son, Alan, a freshman at the University of Oklahoma, was held overnight at the Stephens County Jail on an “unrelated charge” related to stolen checks, said Duncan Detective Danny Foraker.

No arrests have been made and police would not characterize the nature of three family members' deaths.

Police are aware the Hruby couple departed from their usual pattern of behavior beginning on Friday, when they didn’t show up for work at the newspaper and John Hruby didn’t cover the Marlow High School football game.

According to Tinker Hruby's own twitter she was a Crime reporter for The Marlow Review in Oklahoma!

I wonder if someone she was investigating/writing about in the newspaper, could have committed the crime?

Please remember that unless a family member is arrested for this crime discussions regarding them being a suspect are not permitted. You can discuss whatever charges he has been charged with to date and what is released through MSM or LE, but that is as far as you can go.

    Thanks, Lambchop

In 2013, Alan Hruby, 19, was charged in Stephens County with a felony for fraudulent purchases on his grandmother’s credit card.

He is participating in a delayed sentencing program.

Court records show Alan Hruby obtained a credit card in his grandmother’s name and charged nearly $5,000 on the card in Europe. His father called police in August 2013 to report the unauthorized charges.
    ---
Alan Hruby pleaded guilty in January and was placed on a delayed sentencing program for youthful offenders. The court ordered him to pay restitution, undergo a substance abuse evaluation, attend drug and alcohol counseling and complete a cognitive behavior program.

    Daily Mail has it:

Son of family found dead in their Oklahoma home being held in jail - but on an 'unrelated charge' according to police

    • John Hruby, his wife Katherine and their teenage daughter Katherine were found dead in their home on Monday morning
    • The family, who live in Duncan, Oklahoma, had not been seen since Friday and police are treating their deaths as a homicide
    • Their son, Alan, is currently being held in jail, but on an 'unrelated charge' according to police

    ---
Alan, 19, previously ran afoul of the law earlier this year when he pleaded guilty to a charge of credit card theft.

The credit card he stole belonged to his grandmother, Janice Hruby, according to a family friend.

He was entered into a delayed sentencing program and was due to appear in court this November, owing $491.15 in fines and court costs.

Does anyone else find it at all odd that no info on WHAT unrelated charges he is in custody on?

IME when LE go to the trouble of telling you they have someone in custody on unrelated charges they specify what those unrelated charges are.
