Hughey's mother Wendy Gaunt can think of one word to describe the past two days.
“Torture. It's driving me crazy worrying if she's ok, where she's at. It's been horrible,” said Gaunt. “All her stuff is at home. Her cigarettes, pocketbook, make up, clothes.”
She said Hughey's cellphone is at home too.
“Doesn't sound like her to disappear. Doesn't sound like her to run away. Something's not right," said Hughey's sister Kristin Gaunt.

So glad this young woman was found alive! My baby (really, about to be 20) sister goes to college in Greenville and sometimes walks/hikes the Swamp Rabbit Trail and I definitely texted her to warn her to be extra careful. Kimara will be in my thoughts and prayers and I'm ecstatic for her and her loved ones!

At about 10 a.m. Saturday, some runners told authorities they heard a woman yelling for help near the Swamp Rabbit Cafe and called 911.
It was Hughey. She was stuck in a briar patch in a heavily wooded area off Cedar Lane Road, about 75 yards from the trail. “It was like she was in a wall of briars,” Martin said. “There was not a single spot on her body that did not have a cut or scratch on it.”
They took turns carrying Hughey, who was wearing shorts and a tank top but no shoes, wading through the river and back up the trail. The whole rescue took about 30 minutes, Martin said. Authorities said Hughey had hypothermia and sustained minor injuries. She was taken to the hospital in good condition.

Parents of missing Greenville woman: Daughter left to die in the woods
GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) - The parents of 24-year-old Kimara Hughey said someone their daughter knew left her in the woods to die last week.
"She was placed in these woods and she was left there to die," said Larry Gaunt.
Larry and Wendy Gaunt said their daughter went missing sometime between Monday night and early Tuesday morning. She was found by a group of joggers on Saturday.
They said her experience in the woods was horrific.
"She's laying there all five days, looking up at the sky, crawling around, in the mud, drinking pond water," said Larry Gaunt.
The Gaunt's didn't want to elaborate on the details surrounding Kimara's disappearance in fear of compromising the investigation but they told FOX Carolina their daughter was badly bruised and suffered from hypothermia."We feel very comfortable with them handling this case, that's why we don't want to give anything away, or make any accusations," said Larry Gaunt.
