WA - Tarrah 'Danielle' Nemetz, 19, slain, husband charged, Lakewood, 16 Oct 2014

    http://www.thenewstribune.com/2014/1...with.html?rh=1

Pierce County prosecutors contend a Joint Base Lewis-McChord soldier shot and killed his 19-year-old wife last week because he was angry that another man had bought liquor for her.

On Wednesday, they charged Skylar Nemetz, 20, with first-degree murder in the Oct. 16 death of Tarrah Nemetz.

A not-guilty plea was entered on Nemetz’s behalf during his arraignment in Superior Court. Court Commissioner Meagan Foley ordered him jailed in lieu of $1 million bail.

"First he told a neighbor that his wife had shot herself, and then he had told an officer that he shot her when the gun went off when the gun hit his thigh, and finally he said he maybe shouldered the weapon and pulled the trigger," said Lindquist. "The true story is the defendant shot his wife because he believed she was cheating on him."

Lindquist said Nemetz's wife was sitting at the computer when he shot her in the back of the head with an AR-15 rifle. The bullet traveled through her head and into the computer screen. A neighbor heard the shot and called 911.

So sad, Danielle was a beautiful girl. Interesting that Skylar has a picture of him behind bars as his profile picture.

A 20-year-old JBLM soldier accused of killing his young wife was allowed to walk out of jail, just hours after his bail was reduced...

He posted bail on Friday, hours after a judge approved a reduction from $1 million to $350,000, according to the Pierce County Jail.

He says it "was an accident", yet according to OkieGranny's link:
Prosecutors argue the soldier was trained to use weapons and owned 15 guns, even leaving his wife one for protection.

I hope they have a speedy trial so he isn't free for long.

Neither even old enough to drink...good grief. What a waste.
    Just my opinion, of course.

While awaiting his murder trial in Pierce County, Washington, former Arcata High School student Skylar Nemetz is being discharged from the Army...

Nemetz pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder, claiming that shooting his wife in the back of the head with an AR-15 rifle while she sat at her computer had been an accident.

After an omnibus hearing was postponed last Wednesday, the hearing has been set for May 20 and the trial has been moved to Oct. 5, Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney Jared Ausserer said.

JBLM Soldier finally on trial for shooting wife’s head off with AR-15

    Jan 2016:

Pierce County deputy prosecutor Greg Greer told the court, “Nemetz gave police several accounts of what happened…including that his wife shot herself, that the gun went off when he shook it and that it fired when he rested it against his thigh.”
