NY - Anna-Rose Shove, 17, drowned in Lake Ontario, Brennan Beach, 10 Aug 2014
A man was charged with murder in the Aug. 10 drowning death of a 17-year-old girl at Brennan Beach, state police said at a news conference Wednesday morning.
Steven D. Szatanek, 32, of Camerondale Road, Baldwinsville, was charged with second-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in the death of Anna-Rose M. Shove...
Oakes said Szatanek spoke to a "handful of women" at the beach that day and officials don't think Shove knew Szatanek before that day. "This really appeared to be a crime of opportunity," Oakes said. He would not say how authorities believe Szatanek killed Shove. He said he would not provide specific details as long as the investigation continues.

http://www.syracuse.com/crime/index...._kill_her.htmlNo temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. - 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)

From November 18:
Moody told the jury that Szatanek went to Brennan Beach to look for women. Moody said the jury will hear from several females who were approached by Szatanek on the beach that weekend. These witnesses will testify about Szatanek's flirtatious behavior, Moody said.
Moody told the jury that they will hear evidence that Szatanek's DNA was found under Shove's fingernails and that Szatanek had a scratch on his neck when he was interviewed by state police.
The jury will begin deliberations this morning in the murder trial for Steven Szatanek...
Assistant District Attorney Mark Moody called more than 40 witnesses during the first seven days of testimony.
