It turns out 42-year-old Tara Bouie was shot twice in the head. Investigators confirm a slug was found near her body.

Police now say her 5-month-old baby was most likely alone with Bouie’s body for at least 12 hours. The baby was found strapped in a car seat, the belt tied in a knot.

Meantime, investigators believe Bouie most likely knew who shot her. Police say there was no sign of forced entry at the house, nothing was stolen. Police say there was no evidence of drugs, guns or any sign of criminal activity.

The couple had recently moved to the home with their child.

“Outside of immediate family, no one was aware of the family's relocation,” Karsh said.

Police have been trying to determine whether a western Pennsylvania woman shot with her 5-month-old child nearby may have been targeted because the baby's father is jailed on charges he fatally shot one man and wounded others who belonged to a Pittsburgh motorcycle gang.

One year after the killing of Tara Sherri Bouie, the case remains open...

“Right now there isn't any specific person he (investigator) can really release or confirm,” said Dan Kesten of the state police in Butler about a suspect. “We're still following up on all the leads”...

Investigators have been looking to see if there is a link between that deadly shooting in Pittsburgh and Bouie's death in Adams Township. They wonder if her death was a revenge killing.

Kesten said that is still a possibility, but said no “concrete” evidence indicates that.
