Alaska Airlines Flight 349 passengers just had a lucky escape when it suffered a bird strike shortly after leaving Oakland, CA, for Seattle. It seems the pilot's control panel went completely dark, but the plane managed to return to Oakland and land safely using just the co-pilot's controls.
'KTVU-TV said Flight 349 with a total of 153 people on board took off at 6:50 p.m. and shortly after takeoff it hit what the crew suspected was a bird. The plane returned to Oakland and landed safely at 7:22 p.m.'
