Alice Lee, Alabama's oldest lawyer and sister of Harper Lee, dies at 103

Alabama's oldest practicing lawyer, Alice Finch Lee, has died aged 103 in Monroeville. She is also the sister of Harper Lee, author of 'To Kill a Mockingbird'.

Her latest interview aired last night on PBS in a documentary about her famous sister, Harper, and her only novel – To Kill A Mockingbird.
Miss Alice, as she is called, is 15 years older than Harper, and still lives in Monroeville, Alabama – along with her law practice, she sporadically updates the public about her sister.'

During the turbulent civil rights era, Miss Alice left a standing order with the ushers at First United Methodist Church in Monroeville, Alabama: Any African-American who chose to worship at the church was to be seated by her.
