Manatee sheriff's deputies are searching for a man they consider armed and dangerous who they believe killed his wife, pastor and another woman Thursday.

Authorities have obtained an arrest warrant for Andres "Andy" Avalos, 33, for allegedly shooting to death Bayshore Baptist Church pastor James "Tripp" Battle, 31, about 1 p.m. Thursday, Sheriff's Office spokesman Dave Bristow said.

Investigators believe Avalos first killed his wife, Amber Avalos, 33, who was a church employee, and neighbor Denise Potter, 46, at the couple's residence at 1200 67th St. NW in Bradenton. Then, Bristow said, Avalos went to the church at 6502 14th St. W and shot Battle.

Amber Avalos' oldest sister, Deanna Freniere, pleaded with Avalos on Friday to turn himself in to authorities.

"Andy, I don't know where you're at or what you're going through," Freniere said through tears, "But I hope to God that you realize what you have done to your family. And how dare you not think of the six kids you have and the future that they're gonna have now. I pray that you come out of hiding and I pray that you give yourself up"...

Cindy Crist, who lives nearby, says she's terrified Avalos might come back to the home where police say he shot his wife and Potter. "He could come back here. He could come in a different car," she said. "Kids lost their mother ... In all ways, it's a no-win situation."

Amber Avaloses' family was gathering at the couple's home Friday. Through tears, her mother recalled her as an amazing person. "She worked three jobs and took care of all the children," she said. "He never worked."

The family knew the couple was having troubles and that she had sought help. "She had sent him to the preacher for a couple weeks," she said. "Amber was a very Christian person. For her, being married is staying married."

The family have not seen or spoken to the Avalos children since they were taken into protective custody, one sister said. "They are in a safe house," she said. "They won't let us have them until they catch him."

The father of Andres "Andy" Avalos Jr. urged his son to turn himself in so that his children may be returned to their family...

The six children the Avalos couple shared were taken into protective custody Thursday afternoon and will remain so until Avalos is captured, Manatee County Sheriff Brad Steube said. Only the eldest three of the children have been told of their mother's death, and are not being permitted to communicate with any family for safety reasons.

There have been numerous sightings of Avalos Jr. in the hours following the slayings, Stuebe said, and they continue to believe he is in the area.

Andres “Andy” Avalos Jr., 33, was arrested without incident shortly before 4 p.m. His apprehension occurred at a mobile home park in the 6300 block of 14th Street West.

“He was at the mobile home complex in someone's backyard area, and they saw them out there,” Sheriff's Office spokesman Dave Bristow said. “He told the person that he wanted to talk to his mother, and from there it evolved into us being called and going out there and arresting him.”

Jimmy Battle said Avalos showed up at the church Thursday afternoon. He first started talking to Tripp's wife, Joy, the church secretary, before eventually reaching the pastor.

"Joy saw it, she witnessed it, and he pumped a number of rounds into Tripp," Battle said...

Amber Avalos, 33, had worked at the church for about nine months or a year, according to Battle. He said she had six kids and Tripp, 31, had tried to counsel her and her husband, who seemed paranoid. Battle said Andrés Avalos "started getting these wild notions about every man that walked by" his wife. "He was incoherent most all the time," Battle said. "He always thought people were trying to do something they weren't."

Triple homicide suspect Andres “Andy” Avalos hung his wife from a cord, beat her and shot her and shot the two other victims multiple times, according to a report released Monday by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office...

They discovered Potter lying in the hallway with multiple gunshot wounds, according to the report. Amber Avalos was located in the laundry room, strung from a cord with severe trauma to the face and a gunshot wound to the chest.

Deputies interviewed the 4-year-old who was in the home at the time of the homicides. The child said Avalos was the only other person in the home when the homicides occurred, according to the sheriff’s office. The report did not say whether the child saw any of the incident.

Sickening. I just read that report about him hanging her and beating her first. They need the death penalty for him.
