Family members last saw Barrentine around 6:30 p.m. Nov. 24, 2004 at her home. The 27-year-old mother was cooking dinner when the her grandparents stopped by to make sure she was coming to their home for Thanksgiving the next day. She assured them she would, but when mealtime came, she never showed up...

Hartley and investigators from the Warren County Sheriff's Office discovered Barrentine's body inside her purple and green Ford F150 on Aug. 2, 2005...

Witnesses reported seeing Barrentine at about noon on Thanksgiving Day in Edwards, and family members have said she may have gone to Hinds County to purchase drugs.

She is believed to have gone there to buy crack cocaine. She had left Vicksburg after arguing with her husband, Daniel Barrentine, about her use of crack cocaine.

Her skeletal remains were found just over nine months later in a pickup truck which was upside down in the Big Black River just south of Highway 80, near the Kansas City Southern Railroad Bridge over the river...

Her sister, 28-year old Stacy Hartley of Vicksburg, thinks she did not accidentally drive into the river, but somebody killed her and rolled the truck, with her in it, into the river.

I just saw this case on a Facebook page I follow. Does anyone know what her official COD was? I couldn't find any info about it online. Wonder what makes her sister think it wasn't an accident.

I just saw this on Facebook too and was wondering the same thing. I too had no luck finding information online.

''VICKSBURG, Miss. (WLBT) - Thanksgiving celebrations are still bittersweet for a Vicksburg family, as they continue looking for answers about what happened to their loved one 18 years ago.

Angela Shiers Barrentine was 27 years old when she was last seen alive on Thanksgiving Day 2004.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace says Barrentine was reported missing by her family to the Vicksburg Police Department. Eventually, the sheriff’s department began assisting in the search.

Months later, Barrentine’s skeletal remains were found in an upside-down pickup truck in the Big Black River just south of Highway 80, near the Kansas City Southern Railroad Bridge at the Warren and Hinds county line.''

''Seale says because of the condition of her body when she was found, Barrentine’s death has never been ruled either a homicide or an accident.''

“Again being an open investigation like it is, drawing any kind of conclusions about who did it and who didn’t do it again will be all speculation,” said Seale.

If you have any information about what happened to Angela Shiers Barrentine, you can contact the Warren County Sheriff’s Department or Central Mississippi Crimestoppers at 601-355-TIPS.''

Thank you for sharing this here. Our goal is to try and raise awareness once again on this 2004 cold case in hopes of getting her daughter some answers and maybe closer.
