NC - Three men found shot to death in Maxton woods, 30 Nov 2014
A Pembroke man has been charged with three counts of murder for the shooting deaths of three men in the woods in Maxton last weekend, according to Robeson County Sheriff Kenneth Sealey...
Casey Collins Locklear is accused of shooting and killing John Christopher Freeman, 43; Teddy Ray Maynor, 34; and Mitch Oxendine, 35. There was no information available on a potential motive for the murders...
When deputies arrived at the scene of the murder, a concrete picnic area in the woods, two of the men were dead and the third was critically injured. The third man later died at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg.
Relatives said Oxendine and Freeman were shot in the head and that Maynor was shot twice in the back.
Investigators haven't... released a possible motive for the crimes, but relatives said they believe the shootings might have been in retaliation related to some kind of incident.
Local residents say the area where the men were found – called "Little Swamp" – is known for parties and drug activity.
