Family seeks help finding car of Milwaukie man believed missing on Mount Hood
Clackamas County sheriff's deputies are trying to determine the hiking route of a Milwaukie man believed to be missing on Mount Hood. "If we don't have a place to start, we can't search all of Mount Hood," Sgt. Nate Thompson, an agency spokesman, said Monday. "We just don't have the resources for that." Gerren Kirk, 31, left home Wednesday with plans to camp on Mount Hood and return Saturday, but he didn't give details, his sister Whitney Altman said.
The family requests help from the public in finding his car so a search and rescue operation can get started.

From your link:

The Wasco County Sheriff's Office is "ramping up" a search for a missing Milwaukie man whose car was found near a campground south of Mount Hood on Monday.

Sgt. Scott Williams of the sheriff's office said Gerren Kirk's gold Pontiac Grand Am was found in the parking lot at Frog Lake Campground off U.S. 26 in the Mount Hood National Forest.

Although WCSO suspended the official search for Kirk Dec. 15, family members still hold out hope that he could be found alive.
Kirk’s grandfather Verne Duncan, a Milwaukie resident and former state superintendent, has taken heart that volunteers are still searching. A receipt for thermal underwear was found in Kirk’s car, so Kirk may have found a way to stay warm, Duncan said.
“The whole drone community is headed up there, and we don’t know if they’ll turn up anything, but we really appreciate the support,” Duncan said.

This article is from a week ago when the official search for Gerren was suspended. In the comments is a link to a 5:44 youtube video of Gerren's brother with a drone operator searching for him. The drone technology, the aerial photography, the environment and conditions may be interesting to some. It's not on a MSM account so not posting a direct link to the youtube.

Family facebook that is titled "in loving memory of" but I can't find anything there indicating that he was found.

His NamUs page has been removed. His remains have been found a few years ago and have recently been positively identified, per his family.
