Reward offered for information on missing woman
KINGMAN - The relatives and friends of Cynthia Marie Horn, a Yucca woman who has been missing since Oct. 3, are offering a $2,500 reward for information on her whereabouts. Cynthia Horn, 54, was last seen in Yucca on Oct. 3, according to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Department. Mary Miklosz, a close friend of Horn’s, said she has been living at Horn’s home in Yucca since she went missing and that she is realistic about the fact that Horn could be dead. She and the family are willing to provide money if someone has information that leads to finding Horn or her remains. "She's nowhere to be found," said Mary Miklosz, Horn's former longtime partner. "She's not using her credit cards."

Miklosz said the man with whom Horn was last seen with was arrested in Mexico on a gun possession charge shortly after she went missing. James David Collins, 50, was driving her black 1994 Jeep Wrangler when he crossed the border. He remains in a Mexican jail. Miklosz believes the weapon might have belonged to Horn, and she fears the worst. "I don't think she's living the high life in Mexico without spending any money," she said.

My Grandparents lived in Yucca, they passed away when I was seven. Barely a wide spot on the road (I-40) runs through it.

Can LE go question this guy? The fact he had her vehicle and she hasn't had any bank activity doesn't bode well : (

YPD helps in search for missing Arizona woman
Police are searching for a Mohave County woman who went missing in early October whose vehicle may have been spotted in the Yuma area. Her friends and family are also offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to her whereabouts.
Cynthia Marie Horn, 54, of Yucca – located about 35 miles north of Lake Havasu City – was last seen on Oct. 3 leaving her home with 50-year-old James David Collins. She was driving a 1994 Jeep Wrangler with a Colorado license plate of 383EXE.
Horn is described as having a light complexion, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing between 170 and 183 pounds, with hazel eyes and long curly blonde hair. She was last seen wearing blue jeans and possibly a tie-dye shirt. She generally styles her hair with a pony tail and often wears glasses and a baseball cap.
According to reports, Collins may have been spotted traveling through the Yuma area to Mexico in Horn’s Jeep in early October.

Authorities say Collins was arrested in Mexico for a weapons violation and allegedly was in possession of Horn's vehicle.

Collins was arrested Tuesday after allegedly telling investigators he killed Horn, transported her body to Yuma County and buried her on family trust land.

Yuma authorities have recovered human remains. Autopsy results are pending to positively identify the remains and determine the cause of death.

In advance of the official identification...

RIP Cynthia.

I am glad US authorities got their hands on this guy. When I saw "arrested in Mexico," I was afraid he would never be held accountable, if he is in fact responsible. It sounds more like he is involved than in the earlier stories. RIP Cynthia.

From May 2015:
James Collins, 50, faces one count of second-degree murder in the slaying of Cynthia Horn, 54. She was reported missing in Yucca, Ariz., in October, according to the Mohave County sheriff’s office.
An autopsy conducted by the Mohave County Medical Examiner positively identified the remains as those of Horn. The cause of death determination was homicide, multiple gunshots to the head.

Collins is held in the Yuma County jail on charges of second degree murder, abandonment of a dead body and theft of means of transportation.

RIP Cynthia.

Last month, James Collins plead guilty to the murder of Cynthia Horn.

A plea agreement has been entered to resolve a murder in northwest Arizona. James Collins, 51, pled guilty Tuesday in the October, 2014 death of his girlfriend Cynthia Horn.

Last week, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

James David Collins was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Friday in Mohave County Superior Court.

That was the maximum sentence possible in this case as Collins plead guilty in April to second degree murder charges for killing his close friend Cynthia Marie Horn.

During sentencing, Collins stood up and said he’s sorry to Horn’s and her family.

“To the court I am sorry for what I did, I don’t sleep nights, I was a coward for killing her and burying her body in Yuma,” said Collins.

But Collins’ apologies to Horn’s family and friends were not accepted.

“I hate James David Collins, I hate him for what he put the family through he can’t get out of jail or he will do it again. I need to forgive him but not for him, for me, so I can sleep at night, I don’t care if he sleeps at night,” said one woman who knew Horn.

"I feel good with the 20 years," Miklosz said. "I would've liked more but I'm good. Anything less I would've been upset.

"Like the judge said, it was more an execution than self-defense. I don't think he (Collins) should ever get out of prison."

"In this case, 20 years is the best we could've hoped for," said Natalie Horn, Cynthia's niece. "Were glad to have this day. It's been a long time

Sheila Horn, Cynthia's only sister, spoke through tears. "We're OK with where he's at. He should be there a lot longer but we'll take we he got."
