Found Deceased NJ - Susan Johnson, 59, Gloucester Twp, 5 Dec 2014 *Arrest*

Miguel Angel Diaz, 30, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of 59-year-old Susan D. Johnson.

Diaz, whose last known address is Mount Laurel, is accused of beating Johnson fatally following an argument over money in her home on Dec. 5. Diaz and a woman, previously identified as persons of interest in the case, had been staying with Johnson.

Diaz allegedly transported Johnson’s body to a wooded area near Willow Ridge Park in Evesham Township.

Police say they searched Johnson’s apartment after she was reported missing and found evidence of a struggle.

Authorities identified a man and a woman that were living with her and were both coworkers at a cleaning business. Police say she took the two in because "they were down on their luck and needed a place to live"...

“She brought these people in, but she said the guy didn’t respect her and it was her home so she was going to say they had to leave,” says Mary Crain, Johnson’s friend.

The body of 59-year old Susan D. Johnson was located by police in a wooded area near the 5000 block of Commonwealth Drive in Evesham Township, Burlington County.

Investigators believe Johnson was fatally beaten sometime December 5 in her home on the first block of Skyline Drive in Gloucester Township and transported to the location where her body was found...

Police were led to the location of the body by a woman who was originally a person of interest, but is now only considered a witness and has not been charged.

Susan Johnson screamed. There wasn’t much else the 59-year-old Gloucester Township woman could do as her alleged killer entered her bedroom Dec. 5, moments after telling a witness he was going in to “finish her off,” according to authorities.

Miguel Angel Diaz, 32, then allegedly made the witness help him clean up Johnson’s blood and dispose of the body, according to a probable cause statement read during Diaz’s court appearance Monday...

The witness led police to the body Friday. Not long after, Diaz was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. He was arraigned in court Monday for Johnson’s death; his bail was set at $2 million.
