To those wondering why he wouldn't have shown up on the camera facing the street, my theory is that he crossed Main St. directly across from Kildare's and took those steps down to the towpath, made a right on the towpath, and then a left across the bridge.

Guess there's nothing new today? I keep expecting to wake up to a headline that he has, sadly, been found in the river.

I know. I check back each day and I'm not sure what is worse - finding another thread or seeing a Located post. I fear the later is looming and it always feels like a punch in the stomach no matter how much evidence is pointing bad news. The exception was Carleesha's case - such happiness on that day and I promised myself to quit checking for the holidays...and I did until I saw Shane on the news.

    Strong possibility this is true.

Im starting to rule out the going to the river to urinate theory. It sounded practical at first but if he walked on that to towpath the way you detailed, and didn't urinate on the grass / into the canal that he was right nearby and instead took a right onto the bridge into the parking lot......he was either very disoriented or had a reason to go to that parking lot.

For the theory that he was smoking and accidentally fell into the river I am trying to piece together why he would go THAT close to the river to smoke, again unless of course he was disoriented or someone drugged him......

On the disoriented/drunk/drugged theory: another possibility is that he started to walk home from this parking lot [after smoking maybe?] on the train tracks and as he is walking he forgets [because his mind isn't in the right place] to make a left turn to get onto Cotton st or Lock st.....and instead he stays keeps walking on the train tracks that go over the river and fell off the side by accident or after panicking or tripping or dropping something

Christies nail salon has 2 that face Kildares.
    Derek's has 3
They have footage of him going to Kildares - they haven't released the video- so, we're not sure which angle he was captured. They also reviewed footage and said there was no altercation out front of Kildares. But, shane wasn't seen.
He was seen on camera directly across the street- headed to the parking lot. Which most likely means he didn't make a right or a left out of Kildares- he went straight- directly into the lot.

Shane made a phone call 12-15 minutes before going into that parking lot.....the phone call was at 1:38am and he goes into a lot a little after 1:50am......Shane's demeanor in the phone call would have possibly indicated if he was drunk or drugged.......Shane's mom was saying for weeks that there was no sign of anything like that which Im assuming was based off of witnesses and maybe even that phone call he made to a friend at 1:38

I honestly dont see him going close to the river in that parking lot if he is not drunk / not drugged / or he is just a little buzzed..... I can only see him going close to the river if he was really really drunk or drugged..... common sense says if he's in his right mind he doesn't do that

Exactly. Either everyone's lying about him not being drunk and he fell in the water, drunk, or he wasn't drunk, and was meeting someone and foul play occurred. Sober adults don't just accidentally fall into a body of water.

Another thing to ponder......I almost feel like by now, police would have gotten the distant relative employee who escorted Shane out of Kildare's to admit or hint that Shane either seemed a little drunk or wobbly......I mean I guess its possible this person really wants to protect Kildare's or something but even I think LE are usually good at getting SOMETHING out of people they are questioning......instead everything has been adamantly 'Shane did not appear to be drunk' And Shane's mom was adamant about it too. Im sure the concerned mother in her questioned the cousin as well as every friend who saw Shane or talked to him on the phone that night about his behavior and drinking

That pretty much sums it up. Nobody in their right mind would voluntarily walk up to a body of water in the cold, in the dark. It's certainly possible that the alcohol just caught up with him, as some have suggested. Or, the OTHER folks were too drunk to realize that HE was drunk, which is also possible.

I'm not sure I follow your logic. By walking straight across Main St. out of Kildare's, he would not be immediately in few of the camera in which he is seen crossing the bridge, because it is not directly across the street. This is the route I believe he took.

Indeed. Sober adults do not even go up to a river at a night time, close enough that they can accidentally fall in.

The sad thing is if he found in the river I dont think they will be able to determine if there was foul play such as a fight

It can sometimes take a while-I hate to say it, but it can sometimes take a few months in the cold weather
