GA - Heather Camp, 33, & Nicole Sartell, 31, found murdered, Atlanta, Dec 2014

    http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local...#__federated=1

Police were first called to the abandoned home on Madrona Street around 1:30 p.m. Friday. They found a body in a back room covered in a sheet. When they finished processing the first homicide scene and started searching the house, they discovered a second body in a bedroom closet. Police confirmed the door had been nailed shut.

One of the bodies was identified as that of 33-year-old Heather Camp, of Canton, according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner...

Neighbors fear the case might be related to a missing woman named Nicole Sartell. Sartell, a woman who used to come by the home frequently, hasn't been seen in months. Neighbors said she's been missing since mid-August.

Investigators found some similarities in the victims’ injuries, but their causes of death are pending autopsies, Chafee said.

“There are suspicious circumstances surrounding this death. We are very concerned about what we have found,” Atlanta Police Capt. Paul Guerrucci said earlier Friday regarding the first body. He declined to discuss the circumstances that raised suspicions.

“I don’t believe it is going to be a random act,” he said.

Police say squatters are often seen at the home. But during their investigation, they found the body of a second woman inside a closet, covered by debris. Police believe she may have been there for several months...

Investigators believe the two cases are connected. Both women were likely killed inside the house, which now could be a key piece of evidence in the case.

"That's a reasonable deduction that whoever occupied the house committed these, or whoever occupied the house or had access to it committed these crimes," added Guerrucci. "At this point it will be left up to the medical examiner to determine how those women were killed and exactly when."

One of two people found dead in Atlanta house identified (Atlanta Constitution Journal, Atlanta GA 12/20/2014)

The identity of one of the two bodies found in a northwest Atlanta house Friday was released Saturday evening. The Fulton medical examiner’s office identified one of the two as Heather Camp, 33, of Canton. The identity of the second person was not available.

Earlier Saturday Atlanta police used cadaver dogs but found no additional bodies during a search of the house where the two were found Friday afternoon inside the house in the 1700 block of Madrona Street in northwest Atlanta.
There's a "related" or "popular" link saying something about a search not finding more bodies. That always links back to this story.

I am currently visiting in Atlanta. Sadly, there is so much crime here and the urban/suburban area so vast, this is the only place I've even heard mention of this crime.

Channel 2’s Tyisha Fernandes obtained a report that says police were called to the house 14 times this year for drugs, fights, and most recently a murder. It turned into a double murder investigation when police found a second body hidden in a closet that was nailed shut.

“That’s what's so creepy about it. The people in and out of there every day; I'm like, somebody had to know that body was in there,” said Powers.

Fernandes also obtained another police report that says, a 16-year-old girl claims she was sexually assaulted by a man who was living at the home. The report shows, "she says the sex was against her will and she got pregnant.”

It seems strange to me that LE finished "processing" the first body before they decided to check the rest of the house. What if there were injured people there who could have been saved? What if the killer was waiting just down the hall to surprise them?

Maybe they meant after "finding" or "noticing".

    I mean, right?

    Seems odd.

I dunno. In a crack/flop house where they're getting called in regularly for drugs and violence, there was probably nothing less surprising than that somebody finally died. They're more likely to be commended for thoroughness for going through the rest of the house than negligence in not doing it sooner.
Opinions expressed are strictly my own (who else would they belong to???)

Murder victims Nicole Sartell and Heather Camp were often seen on the steps of a local house church, listening to church music and singing along, says Pastor Juanita Shorter, of the True Church of God Outreach Ministry...

Sartell went missing mid-August. FOX 5 profiled her case, as church members asked for help to find the missing woman...

Heather Camp was also found in the home. Police believe she had been murdered within a day of the discovery.

What a sad end for these two women ! Also glad I don't have to live next to that house... sounds like a bad neighborhood to live in if you have children. Just saying.
Hope they find the perps ; if this was indeed homicide.

Rest in peace, Heather and Nicole --- no one can hurt you anymore.
