Girl, 7, ODd in twisted fiends plot to pass drug test

A hamburger and fries for a cup of pee.
Tricking his daughter's 7-year-old cousin into trading him her urine for a trip to Sullivan's on Castle Island was probably the easiest deal drug addict Wayne Conley - desperate to pass muster at the detox clinic he'd waited a month to get into - ever closed.
That is, until the little girl overdosed from ingesting Suboxone, a narcotic used to treat heroin addicts that Conley gave her because he knew his already-suspicious doctor would be checking for it in ``his'' urine.

``We thought she was sick from something she ate,'' the mother of the now fully recovered child said yesterday on the condition her family not be identified.
``She couldn't stand. She couldn't talk to tell me what was wrong. I threw her in the shower. I didn't know what to do.''
So diabolical was Conley's twisted ruse that the 7-year-old's mother, while her daughter was being poisoned on April 27, 2004, was working at South Boston Community Health Center - the very program that warned Conley he would be thrown out if he showed up with one more urine sample dirty with illicit drugs.
On the brink of trial last month, Conley, 41, of South Boston, pleaded guilty to assault and battery on, and reckless endangerment of, a child, as well as distributing drugs to a minor. But if not for the brave little girl he could have killed and Howard V. Neff III, the assistant Suffolk district attorney looking out for her, the latter charge would not have stuck.

``As long as my daughter is OK, I don't care if he (Conley) lives or dies,'' her mother said. ``He doesn't deserve to be called a parent for what he did.''
I hope she sticks to that. This guy felt no qualms about using a little girl to cover his wrongdoing and in doing so, he could have killed her! Just because it wasn't his child this time, doesn't mean it won't be his child the next time. So I hope she doesn't give him the opportunity!
Just when I think that I have seen the most depraved things a human can do to another human, somebody posts a new story...........

Why is it that when a custodial parent fails to provide for a child it is called neglect and is a criminal matter. But when a non custodial parent fails to provide it is called failure to support and is a civil matter?
