Arrested for carrying a switchblade? I wonder if "recklessly endangering safety" is referring to carrying a switchblade, or something more. My kids (and husband) all carry knives in their pockets, but we live in the country and it's a tool rather than a weapon.
 
I think it's more serious, because 'following an altercation in a bar'...

Evidence gathered at the scene indicates that Diamond had stabbed another male patron and left the bar in a white SUV with his 27-year-old girlfriend. Yeah...I'd say that stabbing someone could be considered recklessly endangering safety! Thanks for the additional info!
 
Police in Wisconsin are on the hunt for video that would prove "Saved By the Bell" star Dustin Diamond stabbed someone ... starting with surveillance footage from the scene of the crime.

Grand Avenue Saloon owner Randy Buser tells us he was contacted Friday evening by authorities looking to review the bar's video footage ... and they agreed to meet today.

Law enforcement officials tell us they requested the video to see if Screech was the stabber ... and to figure out what everyone's involvement in the brawl was.

The incident occurred at the Grand Avenue Saloon Thursday night shortly before midnight. Once police arrived, Diamond had reportedly fled the scene in an SUV with his 27-year-old girlfriend, who hasn't been identified by name. The two of them were apprehended nearby and taken into custody.
She was released on her own recognizance, while his bail was reportedly set at $10,000.

Diamond said he and his girlfriend, Amanda Schutz, 27, were inside the bar when a group of intoxicated people started behaving in a rude and insulting manner, leading him to believe "there was going to be a brawl," the report said.

He said he turned to close his account and get their coats, but when he looked back, his girlfriend was bleeding and two men were holding her hair, the report said.

Diamond said he moved toward his girlfriend when a man grabbed him, the report said. Diamond said he he might have stabbed the man with a pen used to sign a credit card receipt, but later conceded he was armed with the knife, the report said.

This after TMZ claimed the Celebrity Fit Club alum and his girlfriend allegedly got into a dispute with another couple at the bar because they were being photographed, the website reported.

After the couple exited the establishment, things escalated when Dustin's girlfriend reportedly pushed the woman.

That is when the actor pulled out a knife, it was claimed.

The victim is reported to have suffered a half inch wound and bled heavily.

The couple who Dustin argued with then fled before authorities arrived, according to the report.

Authorities found the weapon in Diamond's possession in his car, and his girlfriend was booked on a disorderly conduct charge, though she was later released.

In a police report obtained by CNN, it says; 'Diamond stated that he did not intentionally stab the individual in the bar but that chaos broke out and people were grabbing at him and that he swung his arms to break free.'

Other bar patrons are claiming 'a women was upset because people were taking pictures of her and her boyfriend,' and shoving broke out.

Woah! -- this is why some people shouldn't drink. Creates out of control emotions for some; specifically anger. Well, he's up a creek now. Hope he has a stash of cash somewhere for a settlement.
