Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

There was no description of her clothing and Tharp could not confirm earlier reports that Boelter was last seen arguing with her boyfriend at the time of her disappearance.

Here is Marina's MySpace photo page that shows her with much blonder hair than the picture posted upthread...

She has a young son who sure is a handsome little guy. I hope she's okay and can make it back to him and her family.

Marina was reportedly last seen leaving her work at IGA in Bloomfield at around 6 p.m. Dec. 31. Ashley said that Marina was on the phone with a friend at that time, and that she may have had an argument with her son’s father.

    <snipped>

“We want everyone to know we are there and present and wanting to find her,” Ashley said. “There has been a lot of talk that we are not concerned about finding her, but that is not true.”

She added that it has been difficult with family members living so far away, but now that her brother will be in the area, Ashley hopes she will be able to keep the Facebook page she has created more up to date.

There are some possible clues (buried in the replies) on the FB page - car description, sketchy description of a POI. The state troopers are involved and some of the family have traveled down to Bloomfield to search for Marina. The sister-in-law is doing a fabulous job getting the word out to the media and agencies.

My prayers are with the family and Marina. I hope she's okay and makes it home soon.

Boelter investigation continues; CrimeStoppers offers reward

A representative of CrimeStoppers, Chief Troy Jerrell of the Linton Police Department, confirmed Monday that Greene County CrimeStoppers is offering a reward for information, but CrimeStoppers does not promise a specific dollar amount.

"Traditionally, the local CrimeStoppers organization does not advertise the amount of a reward," said Jerrell. "They normally pay according to the type of crime they're trying to solve, and the quality of the information."

Jerrell said it all depends on the case and the circumstances surrounding it.

"In a missing person case or a death case, the reward would be substantial."

A clothing description has been issued. Marina was wearing...

a pair of denim jeans with bling on the back pockets, a dark "navy" pea coat and her purse has a picture of the Philadelphia "LOVE" statue on it.
The family is still trying to get approval for an official search. The Ohio Chapter of Texas EquuSearch is poised and ready to go.

There will be a candlelight prayer vigil for Marina:

    Date: Friday, Jan. 9th
    Time: 5:00 p.m.
Location: in the South Shelter at Bloomfield town park.

Thanks, JerseyGirl, for posting the new picture of Marina. I hope this is the one that is used officially from now on.

About the family...There seems to be a back story there that we aren't privy to. According to the Find Marina FB page, Marina's mother is not helping in the search though she lives in the vicinity. Other family members have traveled to Bloomfield from other states and are trying to coordinate search efforts. What is not known (by me at least) is if she lives with her mom or on her own or with a boyfriend. Marina was seen at 6:00pm on New Year's Eve and was reported missing the next morning. Why was she reported missing when maybe she had just slept in? How did the co-workers know something else was going on?

It's only a half hour drive between Sullivan IN and Bloomfield IN. It's a litttle odd two young women missing like that.
