MISSING: Family members say they last saw Stephanie Myles on December 13th, and they’re concerned
MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Family members say a young Milwaukee mother has been missing for three weeks. On Sunday afternoon, January 4th, those closest to the woman canvassed the area where she was last seen. Relatives tell FOX6 News 18-year-old Stephanie Myles left her home on December 13th to make a short walk to the Walgreens store near 85th and Brown Deer Road. They say December 13th was the last time they saw her. The snow and cold Sunday didn’t stop Myles’ family members from forming a search party to look for her.

“She has a one-year-old son, so this is not like her to just leave for weeks. It`s been 21 days now and she still hasn`t returned and again, never contacted no one in the family,” Samantha Coats said. Coats says her sister is mentally challenged, which only adds to the family’s concern.

“We love our sister and we just wanna see her return home safely,” Coats said.

If she was just going to walk to Walgreens and right back, why would they wait 3 weeks to report her missing? I wonder if she has a history of going off without letting anyone know? Strange.

Bump...still missing.

“Make sure she has justice:” Loved ones of Stephanie Myles searching for community support

"We need to support them. We need to get together as a community and make sure that we have a proper burial and make sure they have resources they need to move forward," said Lowe.

Moving forward on a new search -- this time for justice.

"We just want to make sure we find, she has justice. We find out who did and they're prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law," Lowe said.

Myles' death is being treated as a homicide. Investigators are still trying to determine a cause of death.

In December 2014, Myles was on her way to the Walgreens near North 85th Street and Brown Deer Road, but she never made it there. Hikers discovered Myles’ body in February of 2016 near 96th Street and Allyn, which is just about a mile away from where the family lived. How her remains got there is still in question.

Milwaukee police are treating this case as a homicide, and the investigation surrounding Myles’ death continues.

The family wants the person responsible for Myles’ disappearance to come forward.
