Police searching for missing Goodland teen
NEWTON COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A 15-year-old girl from Goodland has been missing for over one week. Vanessa Hurd was last seen at her Goodland home on Dec. 30. The Newton County Sheriff’s Office, who’s assisting Goodland Police Department in the investigation, said she may be with her father Travis Hurd.There is no vehicle information at this time. However, family believes they may be en route to California.

FBI looking for missing western Indiana teen
NEWTON COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) The FBI is assisting the Newton County Sheriff’s Department after a Goodland teen went missing more than two weeks ago. Fifteen-year-old Vanessa Hurd went missing along with her father, Travis Hurd on December 30, 2014, according to a release from the FBI. Investigators are concerned that Vanessa may be the subject of exploitation by her father.
Exploitation by her father? I hate to think of what may be going on...Oy vey.

Missing western Indiana teen found, father arrested
NEWTON COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) A Goodland teen that went missing more than two weeks ago has been found in Kentucky, according to a Facebook post from the Newton County Sheriff’s Department.
On Friday the FBI released a statement saying that Vanessa Hurd, 15, was missing along with her father. When police found Vanessa, she was placed in protective custody and her father was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

I hope they lock up the father for a long, long time. "Exploiting" his bio daughter is beyond hideous. She is going to need a lot of therapy and placement in a stable home in order to start healing. That poor child.
