Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

Family, police searching for missing woman
As the family of a missing Silver Springs woman continues to search for her, the Lyon County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information to contact authorities.

According to Hull, Clark left her father's house on Jan. 4 with a man named Ryan. She called her father that night to come meet up with them at a casino in Dayton. Her father did not go because he had an early morning appointment the next day, but that is the last her father heard from her.

Hull said when the police questioned Ryan, he said she left him on foot Jan. 7.

"Since her father had a heart attack a couple months ago, she has been in contact with him at least every other day," Hull said. "She has not been seen or heard from since."

Hull said Clark left her clothes, makeup and her dog at her father's house.

A Silver Springs man was convicted and sentenced to life in prison without parole by a Lyon County jury for the 2015 murder of Alea Clark, said Lyon County District Attorney Stephen B. Rye.

Ryan Joe Coddington, 37, from Silver Springs was found guilty of first degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon on Thursday. The penalty hearing was conducted on Friday and the jury returned a sentence of life without the possibility of parole, said Rye.

A Silver Springs man, who was sentenced to life in prison after he was found guilty of brutally murdering a woman with a hatchet, plans on filing an appeal for a new trial, according to one of his defense attorneys.

Coddington is scheduled on Oct. 24 for a sentencing hearing on a deadly weapon enhancement for using a hatchet or axe, Rye said. He faces an additional 20 years in prison.

Coddington's Reno attorney, Jesse Kalter, said Monday his client "will ask for a new trial through the (Nevada) Supreme Court."
Patricia Baker of Silver Springs also was arrested and charged with destruction of evidence for allegedly helping burn Clark’s body. She also was charged with accessory to murder after the fact, Rye said.

Toni Hardin of Dayton was also charged with accessory to murder after the fact, Rye said. Both knew Clark and are facing pending sentencing hearings. It was not immediately known Monday when the sentencing hearing for Hardin and Baker will be scheduled.

Fugitive wanted in killing of Alea Clark found in Butte County, Calif.

    http://mynews4.com/news/local/fugiti...e-county-calif

A fugitive wanted in connection with the 2015 killing of Alea Clark was found and arrested in Butte County, California, according to Nevada authorities.

Detective Mike Marty with the Nevada Department of Public Safety said in a statement that Toni Marie Hardin was taken into custody on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016.

Hardin had a warrant for her arrest after authorities in Lyon County alleged she was involved in a murder-for-hire plot. She had been on the run since September, using several aliases and fake IDs to move through Nevada and California, Marty said.
