A court hearing has been continued for a Berry Creek man facing weapons charges after a house was searched as part of a homicide investigation. Defendant GD Hendrix, 44, and his mother, Lotta Hendrix, 67, may enter initial pleas during their next appearance in Butte County Superior Court in two weeks, according to defense attorneys. Both defendants are charged with possession of an explosive device. GD Hendrix faces five additional weapons charges.
GD Hendrix was allegedly heavily armed when he was arrested Jan. 6. Lotta Hendrix was arrested later that evening.
Investigators reportedly found firearms and an explosive device from the defendants Galen Ridge Road house. The house had been searched as part of the investigation into the Dec. 19 deaths of Peter Mike and Olga Kroencke.

At the time of his arrest, GD Hendrix had an AK-47-style semiautomatic assault rifle loaded with a 30-round magazine strapped to his back, a loaded .22 caliber revolver on his waist and a loaded .223 caliber hunting pistol draped over his right arm, sheriffs officials said. He also had a concealed dagger and brass knuckles around his neck, they said.
GD Hendrix was booked into the Butte County Jail in Oroville on suspicion of multiple firearms offenses, including possession of an assault rifle, possession of methamphetamine, and being armed in the commission of a felony. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
