Blue Ash police, unraveling a bizarre murder case, said a young pediatrician killed her mother, then cut herself.

Police said they found 28-year-old Malar Balasubramanian lying partially clothed on the side of a road, then discovered the body of 53-year-old Saroja Balasubramanian inside a car Wednesday morning, News 5's Brian Hamrick reported.

It is not clear if the daughter tried to kill herself, police said. She was charged with aggravated murder.

Police said they found the daughter covered in grass, cuts and bruises on Glendale-Milford Road near McKinley Avenue at 7 a.m. She was wearing only underwear and a T-shirt and appeared to be heavily medicated.

She was barely coherent but she told police another person was injured in a black car, News 5 reported.

Police found a black car in a nearby parking lot. They spotted bloody blankets in the back seat and found the mother's body under the blankets.

The car apparently had been there since Tuesday afternoon, News 5 reported.

According to relatives the mother had been depressed after the death of her husband and then she went to India to work in a clinic after the Tsaumi. A suicide note was found on the computer in the victim's home.

"She looks like she's probably been there for some time," said Sergeant Paul Hartinger, of the Blue Ash police. "I can't tell you how long."

Police say another daughter reported their mother missing around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday after coming home to an empty house and finding what appeared to be a suicide note.

Friends say Saroja's husband died recently and that she had been depressed, but police say her death was a homicide. http://www.wcpo.com/news/2005/local/07/27/women_late.html

28-year-old Malar Salasubramanian is currently in the hospital after over-medicating herself, police said. When she's released, she'll be charged with aggravated murder.

Saroja Balasubramanian, 53, went missing early Wednesday, police said. Her body was found under some bloody materials in the backseat of the family car along McKinley Drive in Blue Ash later that morning.

Saroja was apparently poisoned, and when that didn't work, officials said she was strangled. It's unclear whose blood was in the backseat of the car. http://www.wcpo.com/news/2005/local/07/28/malar.html
