Man who set Homestead fire that destroyed five buildings gets 4 to 8 years

Common Pleas Judge Anthony Mariani sentenced Edward Thomas McDonald, 29, to four to eight years in prison on one count of aggravated arson. The judge gave Mariani credit for the 20 months he'd already been incarcerated for a second count and imposed no further prison time for the other charges against McDonald, though upon release he will be on probation for five years.

Mariani also ordered McDonald pay a total of $115,000 in restitution to the two occupants of McDonald's apartment building and one property owner who were uninsured for their losses.
