i went to high school with this girl, didn't know her well though. heroin is a big problem in the area that i'm from, and has ended a lot of lives prematurely-- i can only hope it didn't happen in Jade's case. i hope she's found safe.

This article was in the Columbus Dispatch newspaper this morning.

The Kentucky man who received the 13½ years prison sentence was from Fort Mitchell, Kentucky.

I believe Fort Mitchell, Kentucky is right across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, Ohio.

Kentucky man gets 13½ years for forcing women into prostitution

A Kentucky man who used drugs and threats to control women he set up as prostitutes in Columbus was sentenced on Tuesday to 13½ years in prison.

Court records say that the pair had worked together to rent Columbus-area hotel rooms and advertise the services of women they forced into prostitution between September 2013 and February 2014.

The indictment said Arrick Sr. gave the women heroin in exchange for prostituting themselves and threatened to kill them if they attempted to leave.

HEARTBROKEN MOM DESCRIBES ONGOING QUEST TO FIND DAUGHTER WHO VANISHED IN 2014

Paula Humble will do anything to find her missing daughter, Jade. As the parent of a missing 22-year-old, she’s had to figure out the whole process on her own. There’s no written manual. CrimeFeed spoke with Paula by phone this week and she gave us an inside look to her heartbreaking process.

Her voice cracking, Paula shared a small part of her life with CrimeFeed. Jade Humble grew up in Norwood, Ohio, and is Paula’s only child. “I raised her by myself — my dad helped me a lot. He was older but he helped me a lot,” Paula says. Paula married a man at one point, but they were only together for a couple of years before divorcing.

As for Jade, she excelled in school: “She was very bright, she was an A/B honor roll student her whole life.” Jade aspired to finish high school, become an artist and go to college. Unfortunately, Jade would never have that chance. “Anything she put her mind to, she would have done it,” Paula says.
