Troup County deputies are searching for a 26-year-old man in connection with a murder investigation in LaGrange.

Police say they found five bodies inside a home on Woodstream Trail just after 10 p.m. Saturday.Deputies were called to the home for a welfare check because one of the victims hadn't shown up at work for a few days... Police say the bodies range in age from 16-60. Four of the bodies are female and one is a male. Police did not find a gun inside the home, but say four of the five victims were shot to death...Two of the bodies belong to the couple who owned the home. Two others are family members and one person was just visiting, according to police.

Police are now looking for Thomas Jesse Lee, believed to be the husband of one of the victims."He is not here at the home and we understand there may have been a dispute or something between one of the victims here.

Lee is believed to be driving an olive-green Mazda Tribute with Georgia tag BRN0785.

From the local newspaper (which would probably be the best place to follow updates):
The victims were identified Sunday afternoon as Iiaonna Green, 18; Christie Lee, 33; Bailey Borton, 16; William Borton, 69; and Sheila Borton, 68.... Four of the victims were family members, Woodruff said, and Green was a friend who’d recently moved into the home. Bailey Borton was identified as Lee’s daughter, and William and Sheila Borton as Lee’s parents. Christie Lee was married to Thomas J. Lee, 26, who is currently at large and is wanted for questioning in the slayings.

Troup County Sheriff James Woodruff speculated the slayings may have occurred on Wednesday, although the victims’ bodies would need to be transported to the state medical examiner’s office for autopsy to determine the exact time of death.

In case you have never heard of Lagrange, Georgia it is a city of about 30,000 75 miles southeast of Atlanta just off of Interstate 85.

Different surname spelling here, no idea which is correct:

A search of the residence by investigators and GBI agents revealed five deceased victims, one male and four female, of an apparent homicide. The names of the deceased are:

William Burtron, male – age 69
Sheila Burtron, female – age 68
Christie Lee, female – appx. age 33
Bailey Burtron, female – age 16
Iiaonna Green, female – age 18

The Lagrange newspaper recently updated its article to:
The victims were identified Sunday afternoon as Iiaonna Green, 18; Christie Lee, 33; Bailey Burtron, 16; William Burtron, 69; and Sheila Burtron, 68
so apparently there was a typo when they first published the article.

Only a monster could kill all these family members over a stupid argument. he needs to be found NOW.

This is terrible. So many awful crimes in Georgia lately...( I know it is not just us, it seems to be true in every state.)

Well this is terrible, and another 20 something, RT 28 committed double and now this 26 yr old a quintuple murder with neither reportedly having no prior such crimes

makes me wonder now about the Dermonds, how old was that attacker(s)! And if no prior convictions, that one will walk

God bless these families, will be on the lookout for the vehicle

This news video has a update to it that I've been wondering about .. His family. They say they spoke with his father, Melvin Lee, Jr. who lives in ALABAMA. He says he doesn't know where he is. I was interested in where his family was because he might be headed that direction. (also I live in Alabama not far from Ga.) I don't live far enough from GA till they catch him. This is the link to a very good station in GA. They always have little tidbits of information that the others don't have or don't give. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/five-bodies-found-inside-lagrange-home/nj2rK/

Hello neighbor . I'm in Alabama on the Georgia line also. The crime occurred about 50 miles from me.

Unfortunately I can't find much media coverage other than the original reports.

A nationwide manhunt is underway for a Troup County man suspected of murdering five people last week whose bodies were found in a home on Woodstream Trail Saturday evening... Woodruff told the Daily News by phone this morning that his office has put out a nationwide “be on the lookout” alert to other law-enforcement agencies, but he admitted Thomas J. Lee could “be anywhere by now.”

Sgt. Stewart Smith, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office, told WSB-TV on Sunday authorities are using every available resource to find Thomas J. Lee. “We’re doing any tracks we can on the cellphone, any internet searches, social media searches for him and kind of coming up with a dead end right now,” Smith said.

"If this happened Wednesday night and he left immediately, he's got five days that he could be anywhere," Woodruff said in a phone interview Monday. The sheriff said the U.S. Marshals Service had been called in to assist, and investigators were following up on tips from people who think they spotted the suspect in Tennessee, Florida and Ohio...

"We canvassed the entire neighborhood and talked to next door neighbors and people down the street, and nobody saw or heard a thing," Woodruff said.

Thomas Lee lived at the home with the rest of the family, the sheriff said, and no prior domestic problems had been reported there. Woodruff said he's not aware of the suspect having a prior criminal record.

Hey! I'm near Montgomery but have family all over GA so I read their news daily. Here are a couple of sites that are covering this case heavily. www.wsbtv.com , www.wtvm.com, www.myfoxatl.com and one in Montgomery www.wsfa.com. Hope this is helpful since you are right near there. Are you in Valley?

They are confirming that his father Melvin Lee Jr. lives in Valley, Alabama and is cooperating with the police.
